Re: ISO chicken loop

I'd also curious to know more about the Kitelab QR. I like how small the loop is. I wonder what the head looks like disassembled? Anyone have a photo(s)?

Re: 2021 Contra 1s small size behavior

I have both a 4m & 5m Contra 1S. I pump them both to about 10.5-11psi. The smaller the kite, the smaller the leading edge strut, the higher the pressure. Higher pressure helps, but doesn't totally eliminate, the wingtip tucking. (See paste from the Cab users manual below) Being such small kites, I'v...

I'm sure there are other sources, but if you need to rebuild your pump Kiteboarding.com has seal kits for most pumps.

Re: Kite-o-rado Snowkite Conditions

SNOTEL shows 14" of snow (settled from a high of 19") at Lizard Head Pass, as of 12-6-23. Can anyone comment if that's enough snow? And if any Grand Mesa peeps are reading, what is enough snow for that area and what SNOTEL sensor correlates with Grand Mesa? Park Reservoir? Happy Holly Daze! -B ...th...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Agreed. Even though I still can't make 50% of my jibes, I started using a harness at about my 6-7 hour of winging. It's so nice to rage upwind and rest while hooked in. Having had rotator cuff surgery (supraspinatus reattachment), I was worried that winging would bug my shoulder. And it did, during ...

Re: Wingfoiling learning process

Both DaKine and North Shore Inc. (NSI) make plastic spreader hooks which deflect and fold flat. They are also easily slid to the side, when you need to lie flat and paddle. The DK hook works with 2" webbing. NSI makes two versions for both 1.5" and 2" webbing. ...in the first learning stages, we rid...

Re: The Rescue Topic

Toby, Are you proposing to land on a kite to pop/destroy it in a death loop? If so, I've never thought of that. I once rescued a friend's kite, which had come off the harness. The bar was a mess and the kite would loop off the water, crash and repeat every ~30 seconds. I watched the kite for quite a...
