Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

No worries mate. Yea, after much thinking I've settled on using body weight and ignoring lifting up or pushing down effect of wing or kite, at least for winging and the type of underpowered freeriding I do. Yes maybe should start adding all the little bits such as board and wetsuits etc. The weight...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

Hi @PrfctChaos Hi hypto, Looks like a good stats for a wing to me. The rg14 does pretty well in the calcs, but mh32 still makes another 6% or so improvement, so I would likely go for the mh32 option. I have used your selected wingspan and area, that is used to calculate the "average" chord which is...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

Hi @PrfctChaos I am designing a wing with a 965mm wingspan/216mm center chord/ 1340 sq-cm. The wing kinda scallops in creating a medium aspect near the center and high as you go further out (think cloud9 f-series kinda). I weigh about 90 kg's without any gear on, almost always use a wetsuit here on ...

Re: What wood for mast core?

If I had a cnc machine I would definitely build my own mast using Paulownia/Balsa. You could make your life really simple do the same for a fuselage and join the two by permanently glassing them together, that way you wouldn't need to fuss with complicated joinery. Good luck

Re: What wood for mast core?

I would assume Paulownia would give you the strongest strength/weight ratio. Balsa would be even lighter but Paulownia would be quite a bit stronger I suppose.

Re: Converting surf board

I did this with a surfboard, and it seems to be holding up fine. The 4 deep nuts-in-plastic-plug is also half the weight of two fin boxes. Hi Hyptocrypto, I am Javier Fernández RRD Spanish Team Rider. It's a good question and I think I can answer you well, since I know a lot all previus RRD Relis and all the mk8 Protos up to this ended Mk8, because I helped in protos tests and I have already done open test on the beach with fan riders...

Cool thanks man, you by chance know the spec on the sheeting center lines. I'm assuming its spectre, just not sure on diameter and length from from quick release point to main center lines.

Much appreciated.
