Re: Bigger board or bigger kite in light wind?

Hydro foils are the kings of low wind, for sure. Having said that, riding the Airush Sector 60, I can't remember any sessions when I could not ride that and foil guys would be out having a blast. I suppose the reason is that the margin between Sector not working and HF still going is practically ver...

Re: Wingsurfing - Intel - forum topic?

- long arms vs. short arms wingsurfing. Arm extensions for lightwind You might be onto something here that might make this work. Maybe some telescopic carbon fibre sticks with quick connect pig tails. Or could it work even with some rope or lines. Though that would make it difficult to control with...

Re: North kiteboarding 2020

What annoys me is that the new "North" does not resonate with me at all... And here I was thinking I'm the only one selecting kites based on their name resonance! A friendly tip, go to highly echoing cave and sing the names in a chanting manner, you'll find the resonances in no time. That's how I f...

Re: Twintip for choppy water

Of the TTs I have had or tested, two I've noticed I like how they ride on chop.
- RRD Bliss V3. Smoooth ride. But then that was the single thing I liked in that board.
- Shinn Bronq CRB4 (2018). Also very smooth on chop, but unlike the Bliss, I like everything in this board. A keeper.

Let's not forget that only 2019 gear can make your riding experience good. Anything older is so out of date.
It's already April, 2020 gear is behind the corner.
I woudn't bother go kiting with 19 stuff anymore. Those kites should be recycled into trendy vintage bags.

Re: improve speed on slower board

I ended up with two twintips. A large Core Fusion3 and a small Shinn Bronq. A perfect combo to me.
But if I'd do it all over again, I would propably get just one midsize Crazyfly Raptor LTD...

Re: improve speed on slower board

I had an earlier version of Bliss. It handled chop really well, as you say, but that was the only thing I liked in that board. Surprising power hunger was my main issue with it, which relates with low speed.

Re: Upgrading Valve

I suppose it depends how much reinforcement there is currently. I did the same, updraded a toy valve to Boston. I just cut the LE opening bigger with scissors (carefully to make it tight enough for the Boston valve to stay put), cut the toy valve away from the bladder and stick doctuba Boston valve ...

Re: Quiver Simplicity

Sorry to burst your hippie bubble. Less is not more in this case. Right size kite is more. Other than that it's often just wrong size kite, which is never fun, or sitting at the beach. During first season, most should learn to read the conditions and be able to choose the right equipment within minu...

Re: Alternative KOTA rules

Getting a random kite one has tested maybe once on a previous test day and then competing with it, pulling the craziest heights. Yeah, sounds very safe. Could provide dashing wipeouts though, if that is your thing. What KOTA is really missing is sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their hea...
