Re: Vibram five finger booties for kiteboarding

Thanks for all the feedback and insights, lots of good considerations. I haven't tried the Vibram but when I have to wear foot protection I like these Ion Ballistic toes 2.0 ES they're light and segmented and the closest I've found to barefoot feel with good protection from the reef etc...theyve he...

Vibram five finger booties for kiteboarding

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Vibram Five Finger watershoes for kiteboarding. I end up kiting in a number of places I have to wear booties. I've tried several different ones and I never feel like I have a good fit with my foot straps which causes me problems jumping. When I can ride bare f...

Re: Flite sizing

I'm about 220 lbs and have used the 12m & 17m Flites for several years. I really enjoy both kites! Once in a while I'm on my 12 and would like a touch more power, so I grab a bigger board. And sometimes while on my 17 I want a bit faster turning kite, although I think the Flite has excellent turning...

Re: When is "Big" too big?

My 14m foil kite is a Frenzy, newer model. It could be for sale.? Like I said, I hardly ever use it.

Re: When is "Big" too big?

I bought a 14m foil kite for snow. It has good power, but it is soo slow... I keep going back to my LEI's. My Ocean Rodeo Flite 17m and 12m are soo much more fun. I don't claim to have a ton of experience with foil kites - they seem to be a different beast, and maybe require different techniques.? I...

Re: Any paragliding pilots around here?

I started pg in 2007 - flew a lot until 2012...when I switched entirely to kiting. I haven't pg'd since. As many have stated, pg risks can be mitigated and most accidents are indeed pilot error...I simply decided for me kiting was more fun and although yes, kiting too has risks, they don't rise to ...

Re: Where did stopper balls go?

You need a stopper to do any variation deadman, or any kind of move where you do a board off and pass the board around your body. You can also use the stopper to play air guitar, point both your fingers into a gun shape and do a double handed air gun while you go "Pow pow pow" with your mouth, and ...

Re: Ocean Rodeo: The Next Gen Bars Are Here

How much money you have to spend to develop and then produce bar? They should cost $100-200. There is no rocket science when it comes to bar. They either take a piss or they expect to magically give 50-60% discounts on their bars. The pilot bar is an updated version of the standard setup, but the s...
