Re: Highest performance (race) current model kite that doesn't require special handling?

PL AeroV2. Very very well designed kite which is stable and quite usable. If I had to choose I'd take Aero any time over Sonic2. Sonic3 may be even better but there is a big difference in price also. You are right to say they are cheaper, but the handling of the kite is as twitchy as all the other ...

Re: Highest performance (race) current model kite that doesn't require special handling?

Both the new VMG and R1 require special flaking. The new VMG can’t be folded along its chord. This leaves the F-one diablo V5, or the “performance freeride” kites from flysurfer and ozone, the sonic and Chrono. I get the impression the sonic is a racier kite than the Chrono. There are probably some...

Re: Highest performance (race) current model kite that doesn’t require special handling?

Got my new 11 and 15 mt sonic 3 last week and rode them during the weekend. I am coming from a Sonic Race quiver, and I have to tell you, the performance and ease of use of theese kites is out of this world. A lot of upward pull, very forgiving in gusty conditions and very, very fast. I was training...

Re: straps for foil if not getting air

Hi All, I am slowly progressing in my first year of foiling and finally got my foot work pretty consistent when going portside, able to jybe in both directions and can ride toe side going goofy. If im not trying to jump my foil, is there any benefit to ride with straps on. I am riding full straples...

Re: Mast length for Racing

Chubanga is 106, same as Moses and as was Mikeslab, they are usually better for flatter seas. Levitaz still has a 110 offer on the new R5, suposedlly better for choppier conditions. In the end, newer hydrofoils are not afected as much as older models, as they stay stable when breaching, so mast leng...

Re: 9m v 10m Soul

Sorry I didnt see the post earlier. Main difference between 10mt and 9 mt soul is the cell count, which from the 10 mt onwards is at 41, compared to the 35 cells of 9mt souls and smaller. This effectivelly results in a lower aspect ratio, which actually means faster turning, more drift but a little ...

Re: Turbulence while riding

Thanks all. I can add that the lake has no debris. Also this bumping turbulence is pretty constant. I have noticed ventilation with air getting trapped in foil, but this goes away while the yaw and roll jerks don't. The question I am most interested in is this: When riding small chop with similar s...

Re: Turbulence while riding

Seems you have ventilation, either on your mast or on your wings...
Does it happens when you are riding harder (edging harder, doing sharp turns, or accelerating)?
This can be solved by doing a slight sanding on the mast, or the trailing edge of your wings.
