Yeah good question. Not sure, no gouges on the base from hitting a rock or anything & the fin's fine. Definitely happened on the water though.

Glass hasn't cracked completely through on the top like it has on the base. Smaller one near the fin screw which hasn't cracked inside the hole luckily.
