Re: self rescue with a strutless

Been there, done that, with a 12m Gong Strutless. In my case, there was a breeze left so after I got to the kite I was able to open the canopy for some “sailing”. If the wind dies altogether and you have a strap and a board that floats, you could try deflating and packing the kite. IF you can pack ...

self rescue with a strutless

How do you guys self-rescue when your strutless kite falls and the wind dies completely? This is what happened to me the other day, the wind totally died when i was 500m out and my strutless Gong dropped. It appears that the canopy just sticks to the water and the whole rig becomes a sea anchor, ver...

Re: Large wings for foiling

I ride with Levitaz Element wing which is 680 sq.cm, me 200 lb. The only limitation I find in light wind is waterstarting and popping up on the foil. The foil is next to impossible to pump so I need to ride the board first to get going. I think only this prevents me from riding in under 8knots with ...

Re: kites for foiling

Got myself a single strut Takoon One Light in 12m for lightwind foiling. Above 10knots I use a 9m wave kite. I havent tried it yet but since I ride a small wing I hope I get more wind range and dont get over powered easily. Does it make sense or should I also go for a bigger wing even being lightwe...

Re: 15m Strutless

I have a 12m Gong strutless that gets me riding in 9 knots using 30m lines. Once it parks I normally have no problem unless the wind drops. But in 8 knots I can hardly drag myself up on the board and staying upwind is next to impossible. Seeing 12 - 15m foil kites flying comfortably in the same cond...

15m Strutless

Hi all. I am trying to avoid buying a foil kite so I've been wondering if a 15m strutless gong would get my 200 lbs flying in 8knots? I have a 1100sqm wing. Does anyone have experience flying a 15m strutless by any chance? I have seen a few posts in this forum saying that any inflatable bigger than ...

Re: Wing improvement question

Interesting. i thought its always the trailing edge that causes foils to whistle... was the TE fixed as well?

4m range

HI all, I am thinking of buying a small kite for hydrofoilng, could definitely use some advice here.

Wondering what would be the wind range of a 4m kite?
Given I am 200# riding a 700sq.cm foil wing? Low intermediate level foiler.

Thanks and regards

Did naish start making good kites?
its very possible that they did... though I have no experience with the older models.
i own a couple of 2017/2018 naish boxers, great kites with unbelivable relaunch.
