Re: How I built my own kite surfing bar

blu - I got sk99 from Greenhat (US). Great folks to deal with.

Nice bar kite_hh. Love to hear how it holds up.

I'm thinking some 1" id round rubber or plastic chair leg tips might work for bar ends. Anyone try that yet? I suppose I could add some tennis balls for a full carbon walker.

Re: Getting high on my ChronoV3 13m

Love your vids, Patrik, nicely done. Great hang time. That last shot in the Januari vid is awesomely disorienting - after all the shots of you in the air my brain was thinking you were still up there "how is he staying at the same height?" :D You ever sit in a train and one on the track next to you ...

He was not a kitesurfer, they got the story completely wrong. He was a windsurfer (very experienced from what I understand).

Re: Pansh Genesis and some tuning

Flysurfer moved from ELC to small rings, so... Pansh moved from ELC to small rings.

Sounds like you connected correctly - larks head above the ring, ring is just a stopper in place of a knot.

Re: Flysurfer Soul

Would swapping in a smaller ring, or just adding a figure 8 knot to the end help with the catching problem?

Re: Depower Lines Wear, Strength, Replacement

Splicing tools (fids) may set you back $10-$50.
Hollow aluminum knitting needles (cut at an angle) and guitar string (not wound) or picture wire (solid, not strands) attached to a cork will set you back less than that. No reason to buy expensive fids if you ask me.

Re: 2 Kites - 1 Bar (Ozone Instinct 2011+Switch Controller 3)

Sounds like the previous owner had a bar with unequal line lengths? If the pigtails are on the steering lines, and it's the steering lines that are slack, take them off. If they're still slack, you may have to add the pigtails to the rear lines. You can have someone hold the kite in launch position ...

Re: Crap surf fun

6.5 lbs (around 2950 grams) on my baker's scale, with thruster fin in and a little wax and sand. Definitely will try twin at some point, built a fish a few years ago and have my Krypto set up as a quad. Wiggling around like an idiot on waves is a blast. Going to keep it as thruster for a little bit,...
