Re: Kite Attitude aka chicken loop v3

No, but thanks for the heads up. Looks like a nice upgrade. Going to order a couple with the ring length chicken loops, no more cutting things apart. The center hole on v2 was already pretty wide, looks like they go even further, I like that. I guess you're wondering the same thing I am... how well ...

Re: A-15 , 165-Lb rider

Heya Billie - I don't have A-15, but in my research it seemed to be fairly comparable to the Speed 3. For a noob, I would go with A-15 because of the lower aspect ratio. I haven't seen the Aurora III in the wild, but the Aurora II's I've seen tended to twist in any kind of gusty conditions (higher a...

Re: how to make a line set out of Q-power

Yes, spliced flag out to short QPower is definitely a way folks have dealt with it. Or the whole flag line could be spliced dynema and 3 lines QPower. It just makes things slightly more complicated to get 4 even lines. EDTs method makes life easy. Thanks for the vid EDT! Great to see this option in ...

Re: Better kite compression bag? Hate the single strap

Loosen the strap and put it over your head, then it won't slide down your shoulder. I don't think those things are meant for every day use, they're light materials for traveling, which they excel at. I've noticed holes starting in mine as well. If you don't mind a little sewing, you can buy light ba...

Re: Splicing rope on bar

That looks a little over complicated... (not terribly so), but I would skip the Y and just do a knot or a ring and larks head both power lines to that, I don't think you need to separate them.

Re: Total newbie...

Not a whole lot of folks flying fixed bridles any more, and not too many still being made. Having said that, there are a bunch of buggy/landboard folks still out there. Probably your best bet is to buy used (I see you're in UK somewhere?), do a search on facebook for buy/sell buggy/kites. I always s...

Re: Booties

As a beginner I suggest booties with tougher soles... you will go downwind and have to walk, probably a lot. I'd imagine you will be in lakes in WI, walking on sticks, rocks etc... My preference is the O'neil super freak. Get your shoe size. I also really hate the split toe, but a lot of folks love ...

Re: Kite Attitude aka chicken loop QR

alford - they put that replacement warning up because of the french regulations. As others have said, it will wear no faster than any other CL. I only had a chance to use mine a couple times before lockdown, but so far it seems like a good release, and very easy to reset (which is nice for a rope sl...

Re: V3 Wow Liquid Force

I have the 9m v1, love it. All of what knot windy writes above is a good description, but I think it would be fine as a beginner kite. Relaunch is pretty easy. Make sure to pump it up harder than a normal kite.
