Re: Best boosting light wind kite

Cabrinha Velocity kites were always big floaty jumping kites in light wind, but it came with a shi* load of bar pressure. I use the Contra now, not nearly as big to jump with, but way easier to fly in light winds

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

That's a classic Fox News generalization. Maduro calls Venezuela socialist just like Kim Jong Un calls North Korea a democratic republic. A real socialist country to examine are ones like Canada, France, Finland, Norway, Sweden, etc. If one thinks that all socialism is equal to that of Venezuela, t...

Re: Sweat shop kite manufacturing

we all know socialism doesn't work. Only good for the guys on top (get the f*** out of Venezuela Maduro! It's a kite paradise and I want to go back there!) That's a classic Fox News generalization. Maduro calls Venezuela socialist just like Kim Jong Un calls North Korea a democratic republic. A rea...

Cabrinha's new kite - AV8

Anyone else catch a glimpse of this? https://youtu.be/73XGMwzdR1c I owned Velocity kites for years, still have an old 11m. The bar pressure takes a toll on my elbows but they boost huge very easily. I never really had a chance to give the Apollos a shot but they always seemed kind of goofy with the ...

Re: Cabrinha Apollo

I like the Velocity for twin tip riding, the Apollo was a bit of a let down since it was geared more directly toward foiling crowds and less for the TT rider. I'd love a refreshed Velocity with a design that gives a little less bar feedback (like the Contra). I know there's limitations on the physic...

Re: Fatality in France

Can we please stop telling people we don’t know how much wind they can ride in safely. If you don’t know them or their local, you have no idea what they are capable of, so stop pretending you do. Thank you. No we can't. 40 knot wind/46mph winds means gusts well in excess of 50mph. I don't care how ...

Re: Fatality in France

The problem here is: 40 knots. That's insane. Feel sorry for the guys family. Totally agree. If it's too windy to use my 8m (north of 30-35mph), it's too windy for me to kite (TT rider). I feel bad for the guy though, most of us have kited in high wind gnarly conditions a time or two, that's rollin...

Re: Nick Jacobsen leaves Cabrinha team

They both developed big crap as Cabrinha. Success came to them from NP marketing which is or was very strong. It is a pity that new North brand gets into the same vessel. Or may be that guys struck new ideas? Then interesting!! Disagree. Cabrinha makes fantastic kites, never had any issues and they...

Re: Nick Jacobsen leaves Cabrinha team

Nice! Looking forward to seeing the new North brand and gear. I've been a dedicated Cabrinha rider for years but I think I'll definitely be scoping out Pat's designs and possibly making the switch
