Re: launch/landing foil kites on rough beaches ?

This is one of my winter launch spots. I have to make sure that there are no sticks or rocks snagging on the bridles, but haven't had much trouble with canopy tears.p https://i.imgur.com/pxElAG5.jpg I've also tried this to make this a little easier on the kite and bridles. It sort of works. https:/...

Re: I'm not convinced ( but want to be)

Go somewhere with sideshore conditions. Get a boat to take you out so you can "downwind" back to the beach.

Plenty of people who live near difficult kite launches had to travel to learn at beginner friendly kite launches. Maybe you need to do the same thing to wing.

Highest performance (race) current model kite that doesn't require special handling?

Both the new VMG and R1 require special flaking. The new VMG can’t be folded along its chord. This leaves the F-one diablo V5, or the “performance freeride” kites from flysurfer and ozone, the sonic and Chrono. I get the impression the sonic is a racier kite than the Chrono. Re: GPS watch for Kiteboarding

Surely you can get a custom board made in the US? I'm assuming Hood River is the US...
Probably, but it might take some time. Yes, I'm in the US.

J-shapes?
Thanks!

They have a "Freeride 120" at 120cm.

Alpine has a "FS3-XS" as 119cm. - edit , this is KF, not tuttle.

Those are the best I know of so far.

Anyone make a production board like this?

I’m looking for a free race board that has a Tuttle box, and inserts for 3 straps in a race stance but is only about 110cm long and can also be used strapless.

Anyone make one?
