Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I crashed my 4m Peak today in 20kn winds (12-25kn lull to gust) and 2-3 feet of swell. My first crash. I learned a few lessons: I crashed because I had looped it a bunch of times in the same direction on a waterstart and then I tried to get the outside lines uncrossed all at once by pinwheeling the...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hello all, love this thread and check it every few days.....the Peak4 is truly a game-changing kite. It has allowed me to hydrofoil at a local lake with pretty challenging wind conditions. For those that doubt the Peak...come fly a foil or LEI at my lake...it is possible but difficult. The Peak make...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

So, we seem to go round in circles on this a bit. There's a consensus that the 5m, 4m, & 3m are "fun" because they are small, light & lively with great drift for riding downwind on waves or swell. But there's some hesitation about recommending the bigger sizes because they are slower & so lack some...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Wheat - I think we are neighbors.....I have not made it out to the KC area in a while but great bunch of guys and awesome lakes and winds. For sure, the Peak4 is just PERFECT for our gusty midwest winds. I should have looked at the Flysurfer site...duh. Based on that, a bigger Peak is not going to h...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi all, quick question: which size Peak4 will continue to fly in the lowest wind? That is, static flying....not riding? I've got a 5m and trying to decide it a larger size would assist with my local wind conditions of excessive lulls. If I'm not riding when they hit curious as to which Peak size has...

Re: Using LEI kites on land

The Peak4 in 5 meter size is GREAT for landboarding. Highly recommended. Learn to fly it properly on land and then take it to the water. Keep in mind...Peak4 is OK with a twin-tip, but is really much more suited to a hydrofoil. At least in my experience. For landboarding, I use my Peak4 5m in a gras...

Hey Billie, I'm guessing 15Toeside is foilholio, who appears to be banned from this site. Real shame, he had great advice sometimes but for sure offended people and Toby ended it.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi All, am hoping to get some advice on my 5m Peak4. Am learning how to hydrofoil with a Slingshot Hoverglide and the short mast installed. My spot is a small lake, surrounded by trees and gusty winds. Currently, am working on the get up and go part. Since the lake is small, I want to launch as far ...

Re: Solo hot launching a tube kite

I have a similar situation....zero room lateral to wind for launching. So hot launch is only option. No one to help. Use short lines, and rig with bar downwind of kite. Verify all is good to go with lines. Walk upwind to kite, and push it around so wind catches it and fill canopy. RUN upwind to get ...

Re: Flysurfer Peak4 in 5 m2, truly stoked

Jyoder - I am not a highly skilled pilot such as others here, but I do fly my Peak4 5m in some of the crappiest wind around. And I agree with jumptheshark 100%...the Peak is not magic so assume it WILL go down and won't relaunch ! It does handle our winds here better than other kites, but it still g...
