Anyone compared a high y bar (the official flysurfer bar is high y I believe) with a v bar? Make any difference?
Doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference, works great with a v bar. The official bar is a high y. They're not a big wide kite, so there isn't much angle change from v to y.

Here some test about light wind with the SOUL, when I had the pleasure to visit Toronto:

That hf wing looks huuuge, what's the surface area?

Re: New grip on Cabrinha bar

Hideous bar that one, maybe the worst Cabrinha ever made... Personally I'd retire it but you could just buy some bicycle grip on the cheap. Make sure you check the safety line in the PU tube for wear while you're at it and the connection point inside the red mushroom release. As for board / bar rub...

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

Can you ride upwind on these wings, or are they just for downwind swell? I was out kiting yesterday, watching a good kite foiler use a wing on a foilSUP, in 20+ knots of wind. He was mowing the lawn, and very slowly. There was ample swell, I was expecting him to ride it downwind like I was, but I th...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

The drifter was my favorite inflatable kite for hf in swell precisely because it drifts. Hydrofoils make effortless speed in swell, and you catch up the kite a lot. The peak wipes the floor, and completely outdrifts the drifter. It's not even close. You can ride really fast downwind and the kite sta...

Competition drift. Doesn't that use four wheels?

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

I will never ever use a foil kite near waves, however incredible the drift his. I have first hand witnessed what happens to these 3000 dollars state of the art kites. Great for lakes. Considering the number of 'wave' LEIs I have seen front stall into the surf with slack lines, before dragging the k...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

Good trolling effort, mr pump me slowly. Keep pumping, and please watch out for beginners on LEIs being lofted and getting into death loops when they self launch. Elguapo, thanks for saving me the effort of testing a CA Wave. I'll stick with the peaks. They are definitely next level for drift, and m...

Re: High wind hydrofoiling

I've had some great foiling sessions in the last few weeks with 30-35 knots and the peak4 3m. I've previously used a 4m uno which I didn't like as it lacked stiffness, and a drifter 5 which would surge forwards in the wind window in gusts. The peak is safer to launch/land in high winds, and much mor...

is there a reason to not use a foilboard?

i would have thought mowing the lawn attached to a giant dirigibles became obsolete 3 years ago..
