Re: Flysurfer Peak 5 is here

The p5 seems to have an extra row of bridle attachments in the unstructured mid/rear section of the canopy, which will help control the rear of the kite from flapping as much. Their blurb states that the p5 has more power, but hopefully the 2.5m will allow a higher wind range than the p4 3m. I would...

Re: High Aspect wing hype not for kiting?

Thanks for all your thoughts so far! Main reason I asked is because fundamentally 'improved glide' is the great advantage that hydrofoiling brings in general, so why not have as much of it as you can? Having a broad comfortable speed range increases your wind range too I think. The smaller HA wings...

Re: Ram Airs Crash in 2021

Predictions are notoriously difficult to get right. Its actually kite strings that have crashed in 2021, people are holding onto inflato tube wings with their bare hands.

Re: Revolution in Racing Kites

Incredible, those Norwegians were so ahead of the game with the skiseil. They realized you need to get rid of the kite strings and the bladder to improve kiting. Single skin kitewing for the win. That's all of Pumpy's nightmares about kitemares solved. Time to retire. Nolongerpumpskites and nostrings

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

The volume of the 999 is only 75% of the hps 930, so it's a very thin wing and seems to have a wide speed range. It glides and pumps through the lulls really nicely, which suits the peaks to a tee. It catches the smallest bumps, but also cranks up plenty of speed when powered up, and feels much more...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Are you using a peak in that video, you mention you rarely use the 4m kite?

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

High aspect pumping wings work great with the peaks in swell, and allow you to use a smaller sized kite. I have used my Axis 1010 with a 3m peak in up to 40 knots, and over foiling hasn't been an issue. The so called 'surf' foil wings usually have a low-mid aspect with a very thick profile, which si...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I found that the yellow mixer line can wear if the pulleys get sand in them, so I check the pulleys are running freely as I lay it down for launch setup.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

If a peak is about to collapse, i sheet the bar in hard, and I rotate the bar downwards to get even more back line tension. I don't leave the kite above my head in waves, better to have it back in the window. Diving the kite from up high can allow it to hold it's shape better than having apparent wi...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Agree with everything said in this thread so far but would like to point out that the Peak4 does have its limits at its intended use. From frequent posters this might not seems so clear because maybe they don't go out in these conditions, which imo are the sweetspot conditions for this kite. I am t...
