Re: Fone Strike Wing Review

Interesting. That may be true! I'll have to experience. However, coming from a sailing background, "soft" sails that move are terrible when overpowered. And so are windsurf sails. I'm beginning to find rigidness comparable to preciseness and crispness. Sloppy baggy contoursions always seem to be har...

Re: Fone Strike Wing Review

Hmmm... numbers... Had 6m, 5m, 4.2m, 3.5m and 2.8m in swings.... Have: 5m, 4.2, 3.5m and 2.8 in strikes... Weight 175# (75kg) I've ridden the strike 5m from a scant 10mph and with some luck and a tiny wind swell/bump managed to get on foil on the phantom 1780 (however, in these conditions I prefer t...

Fone Strike Wing Review

For 2021 I had intended/planned on using my 2020 FONE swings quiver for the season since I was so happy with those wings / that quiver. Well I had a compulsive day many weeks ago and started emailing Tucker at Mackite to check and see if the new gear was really any better. He said it was. So, after ...

Re: What is overpowered?

Nothing better than holding a tiny wing with the weight of a tissue that you don't notice when parked while riding swell. Sure, I can fly big wings but always to try fly the smallest I can. The other day I went out in 10-12mph on my 3.5 (because my new bigger wings hadn't arrived yet). I pumped like...

Re: Why a stabi, when wing foiling?

Thanks for the comments. I kept dreaming about trying it on kite foiling but never did. Now that I'm riding FONEs setup it is very easy to not attach the stab so I'm gonna force myself to give it a whirl winging.

I'll report back as well!

Re: Buying advice

Regarding the Moses 633 - I had most of the Moses large wings (683, 633, 695, 1100, 1000, 873, 790) and would say the 633, my favorite kite foil, was terrible for winging. Super hard to go upwind, just not enough lift to be fun. Sure, I could make it work, but absolutely no fun. The bigger wings, al...

Re: OK setup for a beginner on flatwater?

Seems like a good setup.

I have a brand new naish 135L if interested in the SF area.

Re: The Gong Hipe Review (Inflatable Wingfoil Board)

If I were to have done another review of the Naish Inflatable, 135L, I would have have the exact review of performance (regarding rigidness, weight, touchdowns).

Price for Naish is a tad more, and their customer service has been epic in my opinion.

Consider a Naish as a better alternative.

Re: Moses 2019-2020

Joe, I have found that the 483 stab (compared to a smaller race stab like the 421) does improve my lowest wind capabilities with a kite to start foiling. I think it has to do with the surface area that contributes (giving more counter pressure) at the begining (at very slow speed) before there is e...

Re: Moses W1000 Speed?

Having winged on both of these mentioned foils, there is absolutely no comparison in speed. The w1000 is by far faster.
