Re: Ultra short lines or wing...?

I know I'm always banging on about Peak4 kites too, but they would be the first thing I would try with regard to your question about short lines or wing. They're inexpensive, hang in the air in very little wind, are very responsive with a large wind range. When a doubting kiter has tried one of my P...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

I was about to buy the 5m but second guessing now; I'm 80kg (170lbs) and 633 Onda, for the range of (top end) gusting to 22 knots with average at 16 knots, and (low end) lows at avg. 12knots gusting to 14 knots, should I go for the 4m or 5m, please? This would be for "wave" foiling. After these win...

Re: The best kite for Teaching?

I don’t understand why people recommend the Peak4 for beginner kiters, not that it’s a bad kite, but relaunch would be tricky The reasons are: - the kite generate zero lift, by far the safest kite to teach on - the kite is amazingly well behaved in the sky - the kite pulls hard but then depowers we...

Re: Would you buy a very sharp wing?

If you don't like it sharp you can sand it blunt. But if you buy a blunt foil you can't easily sand it sharper.

Re: Stable wings for 20-30 knots and 2-4m swell

Good grief man, you're in New Zealand. Nothing is a big trip compared to Australia or Europe where you may have to catch a flight to a good kite kiting destination. The New Zealand Kitesurfing Facebook site, https://www.facebook.com/groups/115325528485030/ has 2,362 members, no doubt some are foiler...

Re: Stable wings for 20-30 knots and 2-4m swell

Hi Plummet. I think I've spoken about this before. Go and try some foils of different types and see how they perform. You have the unusual good fortune to have in New Zealand some of the worlds foremost foil designers and builders such as Axis, Armstrong & J-Shapes. These guys are world class in the...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Can’t demo a Peak 4 as not available for demo but tried a 6 mtr Pansh Genesis 2. It turns so slow, I’m guessing from the videos I have seen the Peak is a lot quicker. I also had a lot of trouble on toeside, the kite just dragged me down wind but on heal side it was fine. Can anyone comment on the t...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

What's Peak4 5m comfortable low end range ie. not overly working the kite for Onda 633 (with pocket board) for 80kg person with good skills, please? Would 14-15 knots avg. with gusts to 16-17 knots be doable with that combo, or how low can you go without overly working the kite? Thanks! Thanks for ...

Re: What is the smallest kite you can waterstarst in 10 knots?

65kg Peak4 5m Moses Onda 633 21m lines No volume 125cm board 8 to 10 knots is fine in our seabreeze where the wind is very constant. Great for riding waves, rolling swell/wind chop. Very relaxing in these conditions. No problem water starting when you're familiar with the kite and have the depower a...
