Re: High wind foiling

The progression for me, & I suspect a lot of other people: you start with the idea to foil in light winds - say 10 - 15 knots, when It's not possible or not interesting to kite with a SB or TT. As you get more competent you start nudging the wind range higher to 15 - 20. You discover that riding sw...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

So more wind = smaller P4's = more fun. And this applies to all kites regardless of type. You can get around the forces of friction with a more efficient design of kite like having double skins. However you then add weight of material plus the weight of the air trapped inside which = less manoeuvra...

Re: Kitemare warning about crossed lines!

Not depowering the kite when on land Not looking at kite when moving your board Grabbing the bar on the wrong side Not spinning the bar when needed Riding a directional on a lake / fjord / river? Not being sarcastic but maybe some lessons would help? Wow, it seemed to me this post dripped sarcasm a...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

So, we seem to go round in circles on this a bit. There's a consensus that the 5m, 4m, & 3m are "fun" because they are small, light & lively with great drift for riding downwind on waves or swell. But there's some hesitation about recommending the bigger sizes because they are slower & so lack some...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Hi all you Peak lovers, I´m super happy with my 5 m² Peak4. Now I´m contemplating on getting the 8 m² version as well. The 5 m² works for me from 11/12 kts until maybe 17 kts (75 kg / Moses 633). Will the 8 m² cover 8/9 kts to 12 kts? Would be very interested to hear about your experiences regardin...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

How much are people finding is too much on the 3m ? Hi jumptheshark. At 65kg I use the 3m Peak4 from 14 to 25 knots on a Moses 679 surf foil. It does depend on your weight and what you want to do. I like to use the smallest P4 I can and surf the foil on small waves and swell. Once the wind gets abo...

Re: Foil board for beginning and compatible carving

I've had the Axis Tray 110 for all last season teamed with a Moses 679 foil. The board is light stiff and strong, gives you a really direct connection to the foil. If you're just starting to foil, the Tray 125 will make it easy as it is easy to manage on the water and in touchdowns. I'm assuming you...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Speaking of flaws in the rider... I was out today on my 4m Peak4 in 12 to 15 knots of wind. The wind was a bit up and down but not a problem for me on Moses 679 surf wing. However for the other TT riders a big kite was needed and one guy had a 15m kite up to have enough power to keep planing. My mis...

Re: Foilers that switch to TT above 15-16 knots

If you're not using a foil above 15-16 knots you're really missing out on some fun. When it's 15 knots plus you can use really small kites which are super responsive, fast and manoeuvrable rather than slow turning kites of 7m plus. Although I mainly use Peak4 3m & 4m kites above 15 knots I also have...
