Re: 2021 Duotone Kites poor construction quality ?

Ok I showed my reply to my brother (he is an attorney). He demanded I revise that last blast of beer breath induced contrarianism. Because light gear is amazing and feels great, there will be gear failures as they try to hook us up with cool new high performance stuff. It's the nature of the beast. ...

Re: 2021 Duotone Kites poor construction quality ?

Quite frankly I am always shocked at how many kiters try to make the manufacturers buy them a new kite even if they effed it up thru negligence. And every single bar I ever owned failed, usually right as the wind cranked up to epic conditions! I never even thought about making the Brand eat their sh...

Re: 2021 Duotone Kites poor construction quality ?

Am I the only one here who thinks the Original Poster is trying to scam a new kite and is willing to drag Duotone thru the internet mud in order to do so? I checked all my well used kites and the seam tape only holds directly underneath the stitching. 70% of it comes loose, sand stuck to it eventual...

Re: 2021 Duotone Kites poor construction quality ?

This thread is really bumming me out. I just bought a new Rebel and like it so far, but the construction is concerning me. No signs yet but I will be watching. Let us know how it holds up. Sometimes newer kite people let kites flap in the peak afternoon wind on the beach. But that wouldn't account ...

Re: 2021 Duotone Kites poor construction quality ?

Matt V is funny. But consider how sour Alula Grapes must be to a guy flying 2014 Best kites he got from a pawn shop. [/quote] “A guy.. “ Or the son of the guy that owns ocean rodeo trying to convince you that the new material they just bet the farm on is better than normal material… Seems totally im...

Re: The Ultimate Wetsuit !?

I just got two Needs Essentials and they don't quite fit as well as my disintegrating (3 seasons) Patagonia did. Patagonia has a great warranty. O'Neil the worst, "that's over-use go away". But they hold up pretty good. RipCurl will ALWAYS honor their warranty. They seem to be the warmest but I did ...

Re: Pivot S25 - 9m

PJ Sofine wrote:"Went from my 12 rpm to the pivot 9 and there was hardly any falloff. I'm 215lbs and I was amazed at the low end. Jumps were weak, the loops are very strange in low winds, only tried a few to see how it felt, you can loop the tightest radius with no pull. Hopefully with the right win...

Re: which aquaseal is the right one?

I accelerate all these by mixing them up with a paddle (squeegee or whatever) over steam. Teakettle blowing steam, mix it up and get the goo hot and saturated with the moisture. It will kick no worries. And as for adherence: just keep dobbing it in, fluffing it up. The moisture from the steam keeps ...

Re: Shark Encounters

Loved that GreenTurtle post of the Bullshark getting it right down the gullet. I hope Spiro ate it and I hope it was nice and tender. Holy Shizzx I am never ever kiting East Coast. That thing makes a big whopping GW Shark look docile. No apologies to any Shark Huggers out there either. This is war, ...

Re: Shark Encounters

I had to punch upwind to get past the nose of a juvenile GW at Sunset (HB CA). It was clear water. It was basking in the sun (thought it was a submerged log) maybe lurking for movement in the sand below as they eat stingrays. It didn't sense my Moses 550 coming and as I passed inches from its nose i...
