Re: Localism - How to keep people out of your kite spot

There technically is a local ordinance banning kiting in this area
By the way, there is a designated kiting area about 1mi/1.6km from this area.

Re: Lightwind twintip kite

I am thinking to go the LEI route mainly because of rare but annoying bowties that happen when wind dies and kite collapses, these ones (as well as inverted foils) are a pain in the ass to fix by myself. Still if there is no good LEI alternative, a new Soul2 will be my choice. Let's be honest here,...

Re: Lightwind twintip kite

Why not sticking to the foil kites? Soul is a bit overhyped, but that's not the only big size foil kite on the market. You can go with LEI for the light wind, but you will be handicaped: Shorter wind range, troublesome relaunch, inferior performance because of less struts in canopy, more drag and le...

It's like surfer's Everest. Many see this as the ultimate challenge, you need a lot of crew to watch after you, and there's a huge risk of dying if you won't make it.

Re: What is your cold water red line, measured in Celsius?

The lowest I went in was 6 celsius, no sun, 5mm wetsuit. I was pretty fine, although feet went a lil bit cold, I was wearing 5mm booties. Was a bit chilly on the back at the zipper, but not that noticable. Red line for me would probably be 4 degrees of air temp.

Harsh truth that many kiters won't see, so the number of people who use foil kites on my spots is increasing... :eybrowe:
