Re: Naish Twintips 2023

The monarch is fast and landings are harder. But super fast fun board and it boosts big. The drive 142 would be great for your weight. The monarch needs a bit of wind to really light up. Both are good boards the drive is a little bit more forgiving. Depends on what sort of wind you are going out in...

Re: Naish Twintips 2023

Looking for an advice :) I'm trying to decide between Drive 138 and Monarch 139 (I'm 92kg and currently riding 142 board but I think I can downsize) Is there a significant difference in strength and flex between the two? My landings are rarely perfect... I don't want to crack the carbon fibre board ...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

Hi Robke, I think the below freeride wing looks pretty good. 750 mm wingspan, 750 cm^2 area (It is just a touch larger than the theoretical minimum zone, but going down to 600-675 cm^2 only has a very small advantage). Recommended profile is the S2055. Make it in Polished aluminium would look aweso...

Re: WingHopper - free wing design/CAD web app

Hey ZachgMoves, I've come back to your tool to create a simple stab to one of my front wings and I thought it would be great to have a small "library" of ready wing designs that you can choose as a starting point and just modify to your liking. Just a few simple shapes that you can click on and star...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

Hi All, In other news, the profile selection tool has gotten another upgrade. 3rd upgrade for those keeping score. 1st major version, Aug 2020, included only NACA4 and NACA 5 profiles, around 1000 profiles. 2nd major version, Sep 2020, added basically all the airfoils one can find on Airfoils.com, ...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

I've stumbled upon this video on YT today. He made a single layer carbon part out of 3D printed mould, it's not exactly the same for our wings BUT around 4.30 min mark he achieved very nice surface finish on the print I think this could be used as a mould straight away (without making the silicone m...

Re: Wing profile info for backyard hydrofoil builders

Thank you! They are very close to each other indeed... I'll try the smaller wing with 700mm span just because it's smaller, this will be something completely different to what I have now so I'm very curious how it feels. Maybe also a touch easier to make since it's smaller. I just wonder if I need a...
