Re: Wing surface area definitions?

This is a great example of how Surface are does not work for comparing wings. The HA1450 has a lot more low end than its area suggest. The HA1450 is closer to the 1850R for lowend takeoff speed, and pumps a lot better. The HS1250 is close to the 1500R in Takeoff speed. For Flat Water Inland conditio...

Re: Wing surface area definitions?

I personally think Volume / Span gives a decent number of comparison. Espacially for low end. -- Gunnar gunnar, slightly off topic but have you been on the north sonar 1250ha vs 1450ha vs 1500r vs 1850r wings for wingfoiling? if you were 87 kg's and very decent at kitefoiling,,, but a beginner wing...

Re: Had Low Wind Breakthrough For Big Guys Like Me 100 kg

That is Indeed an important point to décide or not for a 15 or 18: thé frequency of the weather 5-7 knots. If rare : no 15m "necessary". Just for the luxury pleasure of extra flat- Alone on the spot. But, on my homespot 5-7 is very frequent, Hence even if it is a niche when looking at wind range, t...

Re: Had Low Wind Breakthrough For Big Guys Like Me 100 kg

Yep, you don’t need your 18m Pulsion anymore, so best to just send it to me. There will always be a window where you need a bigger kite to ride. How big that window is, whether it’s the difference between 2, 1 or even 0.5 knots wind difference, is a personal matter for everyone. this has also been ...

Re: Chosing my next foil

I have dabbled and learned (slowly as I get lamentably few oportunities to ride) over the last while. I have changed my 5 strut kites for 1 strut and am now at the point where I’ve decided to buy a new foil. I’m not much interested in speed but favour carving (waves) and lightwind cruising. My curr...

Re: teaching my daughter how to wing tomorrow, board leash? tips?

Should be fine then. Start with 0-12mph wind, learn to sail around, planing on surface on flat water with foil attached to board. Once she can climb on board in deep water and stand and sail upwind planing on the surface then it’s time to move to stronger wind and try to get on foil. People say to ...

Re: teaching my daughter how to wing tomorrow, board leash? tips?

Or do you mean you and her together on the board at once?! I do that with my 4 y/o son sitting between my feet, but he’s just along for the ride and not “learning to wing” per say. no,,, i edited my post,, she is 19, 6' tall,,, 130 lbs approx. skinny. great swimmer, coordinated,,,,,

Re: couple of peak 4 questions

Agreed, kite is most efficient and sits furthest forward when sheeted just right. Not flapping, but not oversheeted either. Pretty easy to get used to finding this spot by sheeting in just to the point the canopy goes still. I also often liken riding with peaks to the tempo of a Dirt Bike or Dune b...
