Re: Introducing the new Naish Boxer

Curious how the dialog went in hiring a new kite designer for Naish. "Hello new kite designer, welcome to Naish. So as you know, world famous kite designer Damien Girardin designed all of our kites and they all function perfectly. Your job is to smile and wave at the camera and under no circumstance...

Re: Anyone shortened Slingshot Mast?

Yeah chop saw or horizontal band saw. Not by hand.

Re: Anyone shortened Slingshot Mast?

I made a pedestal and decided to also drill and tap the middle hole of the mast. Fits a M12 bolt perfectly. Adds some extra rigidity.

Re: Anyone shortened Slingshot Mast?

Very easy. Cut perfectly square. Pre drill with H drill bit. Then tap with a M8x1.25 tap with a little oil.

Re: Mast length windsurf vs surf vs kite

Sry to bring up an old post. I bought an older h2 foil with 24” (61cm) mast. This will be my first foil and I am 225lbs. Will the 24” mast be good enough for me for the first season of learning and goofing around. Hopefully being able to tack by the end of the season. I’m on the Great Lakes and will...

Re: Moses 2019-2020

A quick question for you experienced moses guys. I bought my first foil, it’s a slingshot nf2 but with the H2 (gamma 68) front wing. I was told that it would be similar to the 633 Moses front wing which I’ve read much about. Is that true? And is the h2 a descent wing for kiting low wind? Thanks

Re: Pocket board building

Xps bonds fine, the problem with it is that is has a very low shear stength. So if the board has any flex the foam will shear right at the foam-glass interface. If you can make the board stiff enough, it might not be a problem, but that means using heavy reinforcement. I will be using old material ...

Re: Pocket board building

Thanks guys. I rounded the bottom edges a bit more and roughed them up with 60grit. Hope it bonds ok. Made another board today with just 1/4 stringer, comes in at 1.25lbs. Curious how much glass will add. To answer your question I did it in a pretty ghetto way. I printed the profile in vinyl and mad...

Re: Pocket board building

Thanks Tom. Yeah I added the think stinger and box just for more stiffness, don’t know if that was necessary. For XPS foam is there a particular way to apply the glass or can all 3 6oz sheets be put on at once? I’ve read I’d delaminates a bit easier than eps. Thanks again
