Re: rear line adjusters for bar

I prototyped a rear-line adjuster a while ago, that replaces the bar floats. Which means it would work with pretty much any bar. It would allow 20cm of trim on each rear line by turning the red adjuster nut. The black shuttle would connect to one line end and the other line end to the screw body. T...

Re: rear line adjusters for bar

I remember a swiveling fairlead in the past but haven’t seen one in a while. Not the right thread: I have used a srew with eye that can rotate / swivel, see my post in https://kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=1092148#p1092148 Wasn't so sure how long lasting this solutiuon would be, but I have used it ...

Re: Are Carbon Bars worth the extra price?

But, I'm puzzled with the fact that Wichard is left on the harnesses. That only means it will be pull-in release, and not pull away. Not for the main release to flag out, this of course is push release. I am also using the wichard attached to the harness, but only for the second release, complete d...

Re: Are Carbon Bars worth the extra price?

I really dont see how the total cost of a bar will be at 40 Euros... 40 Euros without lines: - Mountain bike carbon bar from Aliexpress: 14 EUR - Bar ends (between 0 EUR taken from an old bar, up to 12 EUR from Aliexpress) - maybe 4m of 3mm Dyneema: 4 EUR (Aliexpress) - Fairlead: 2 - 4 EUR - Releas...

Re: Are Carbon Bars worth the extra price?

Hi Tom, Could you share a picture of one of your bars? Tx Here are some pics. I don't have the tools nor the time to create artworks, they just have to be functional, and functional they are. They are all slightly different, I am still experimenting. As you can see I have used them quite often now,...

Re: Are Carbon Bars worth the extra price?

I am building my own bars for as little as 40 EUR each without lines. Inspired by the Kauper Bar, with backline adjuster (little knots) - which is working fine (I don't adjust while driving, only if needed with kite in parking position). I like having a very long depower of 60-70 cm for safety in gu...

Re: Comparison Peak 13m and 11m

Imo there is no point to go above 8m and there are much better kite for ultralight winds. This was issue was beaten to death here and i will not comment it any further Thanks tomtom. For wind under 6 knots I have a 18m Concept AIr Pulsion - I have read the comments in the other thread. This is for ...

Comparison Peak 13m and 11m

Dear All,

there are a lot of reviews for sizes 5 and 6. But has anyone had the chance to fly both the Peak in 11 and 13m and can tell how much more you gain in low end with the Peak 13, and at what prize (lower turning speed, handling)?

Thanks, - Tom (82 kg, Wing Gong Allvator 65 M 70cm)

Re: Fastest turning foil kites

Dear all,

I wonder if a Peak 13 could be a solution. It is said to be good turning kite, and should be ok down to 6 knots. Just asking, because I also sometimes struggle with a Soul 12 - I don't consider it an easy kite for beginners on a foil.

Thanks - Tom

Re: New hydrofoil / wave kite and bar: Kauper-XT

With the standard connection system you are set like with a chickenloop + leash except you can't unhook Any conventional system with a separate leash has the disadvantage that you need a solution where you can block the font line with the safety line attached, if you don't use a 5th line, or quasi ...
