Yesterday I was flying the Hawk 6 in gusty conditions (15-25 knots) with foil. Maybe my Hawk 6 is poorly produced, or I am not skilled enough, but it is just no fun: too litte margin between full depower and stall (although B lenghened to the max), nervous. Without loop I somehow can't get on the fo...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

I tried out the Kestrel 8m after lengthening the B bridle as explained by funalex. It really improves the flight characteristics further, amazing.... :). The only small thing I remarked is that the ears fold in sketchy loops sometimes, but was super easy to recover each time. Same behavior in my ca...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Hi Bille, I agree with Regis, but for slightly different reasons: Kestrel has the same wind range, maybe even better. But it much more collapses and then is likely to have a cravatte if not properly flown (or in turbulences). Cravattes are difficult to sort out. You get these issues definitely less ...

Re: How do you glide?

This guy flies pretty well with tiny single skins' https://www.facebook.com/share/r/Xbo6CE5yNXFpvAod/ A single skin is even safer to fly with than double skin I think: more stable, easier to go down, less lift wich is much safer on a windy slope. Ok, you need a steep slope, why not? A bad landing o...

Re: Virtual assistant to launch foil kite in very high winds

Hi Alex, have you further elaborated on this? Would be great if you could launch a Kestrel in the wind window just like a tube kite. I just had two very sketchy launches on narrow lake launching sites, on shore wind but not enough space downwind and water was deep close to shore (Kestrel 12, gusts u...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

Thanks for all the reviews. For those who have flown Souls, is the Kestrel as good/or better than a Soul V1? I'm still looking to pull the trigger on an 8m Kestrel (for TT and foiling). In steady wind conditions and enough space to launch Kestrel is clearly much better (overall) than a FS Soul, esp...

Re: Pansh Kestrel, high performance kite

I have now flown the 12 Kestrel several times and it is a great kite. At first I had the Bs extened by 2 cm, because I had to do the same on my 6 Hawk, otherwise the Hawk flew terrible (too much backstall). But for the Kestrel this was wrong. Too much frontstall and generally instable. Now with ABCZ...

Re: Pocket Foilboard DIY with minimum effort

Nice quick build. Tom, what thickness was the board originally where you mounted the mast? I'm thinking of doing the same on either a LF 151 Proof cut in half, or my other cheap gear find, a Best Armada that I found online already made into a split. appr. 1 cm I think, or a bit more, but not more t...

Re: So is kitefoiling dead?

It certainly is not dead. With no other gear you can have such a big sail up to 30 m high in the sky, where the wind is stronger the higher the sail is. So in order to be able to sail in the lowest wind possible, or as fast as possible, the wing will never be able to compete: max sail size is maybe ...

Re: Most favorite light wind LEI for foil board?

So what are some of the best foil kites for light wind foilboarding lol? I’m with Peter in that my soul reason for posting this thread is that I think it’d be neat to foil in the lightest of sea breezes. PS, My FS Soul was for snowkiting. I have a Kauper Falcon 13 that not only gets me on the foil ...
