Re: New control bar front lines shorter than back lines

New bar... You should put about ten hours on it to bed it in, just like a new kite. If I saw a difference like this, I would put the back lines on the top rear-line knots to start, and then reevaluate the situation once the lines are broken-in. Once the kite starts back stalling when sheeted in all ...

Re: Wow, he got so lucky!

I agree.

First time trying to assist a landing in light wind was a real eye-opening experience for me...

It's probably not really dangerous, you just have to be aware of the fact that it is slippery.

Re: Florida kiteboarder critically injured when he crashes into St. Peter pier

As tragic it is, he clearly didn't think this through. And if he really is at professional level, he should have known better. Still, I hope he is fine and I'm sure he learned the lesson. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A Florida kiteboarder was critically injured Friday morning when he crashed into the sid...

Re: How to separate middle part on Cab. bar?

From what I can see, it looks vastly superior to the old Slingshot bars where the metal sleeving for the center-line through the bar was so thin that it became like a very sharp knife after just a bit of use…

Re: Florida kiteboarder critically injured when he crashes into St. Peter pier

There are some posts on the local social media about the incident. My personal opinion is that jumping fixed obstacles is stupid. But other opinions are that the guy knew exactly what he was doing, and was willing to take that risk... I have seen the video of the rider successfully completing the ma...

Re: Florida kiteboarder critically injured when he crashes into St. Peter pier

The rumor I heard is that the guy is a professional level rider and his prior jump over the pier was successful, with video evidence that I've personally witnessed.

Wind was very gusty Friday.

Thoughts and prayers for the rider's recovery...

Re: Effect of shorter lines to kite’s high end wind range

The kite can pull the same regardless of the line length. Shorter lines make the flying window smaller, so that the kite has a little less room to accelerate and the operator has a little more time to react. You still have to maintain control and a suitable speed. To a very lesser extent, shorter li...

Re: We need to talk about this: Pocket Foiling

I can't imagine that an umbrella, a grocery bag, or even a tiny parachute have all that much possibly for efficient use. Seems to me that all these ideas got tried out more than 25 years ago, and a wing or any old kite would be way more efficient. Suit yourself if you are on a really efficient hydro...
