Re: Too big for a small board?

At 84 kg, I designed, built, and rode more than a few 120 cm or shorter twintips back in my day. Sooner or later, you'll find out that short is too short. Nothing wrong with a long board, and some things about longer boards are really good. What really matters is the width combined with the rocker-l...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Lol. At $5,000/ kite for ten kites, it's gonna be charity work with no guarantee on a successful outcome ... The kite market is super competitive. If there really was even a tiny slice of the pie available, you can bet one of the major (or even minor) manufacturers would have jumped at the chance...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

I've got no ego, no name, and no slogan.

But send me fifty grand USD, and I'll make ten pigs fly!

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

The lei guys want something new, but refuse to try other currently available options or even consider anything different.

On the one hand, I get it.

But on the other hand, I totally do not get it...

Re: The future of foiling

I just recently saw a video where one of the dock-start guys ended up doing a 5k downwind run.

Or, Something like that... I'm terrible when it comes to numbers ...

Re: Anyone regret buying an Evo D/Lab?

So then, there is actually third option: they fall apart before it's possible to sell them second-hand! Just kidding, I see them around here but have not yet got the chance to try one out, and I have no idea about the durability. All I know for sure is that the leading-edge is super slippery if you ...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Comparing old c-kites to moden sle by marketed size doesn't really work. I owned the 2006 slingshot machine, 20.5 meters. Actually, I wore two different ones out... Old North rhino was a beast, and back around 2002 Ocean Rodeo made a 20 meter c kite that was heavy as hell, but still flew amazingly w...

Re: Sorry, your used gear is worth nada

Locally im seeing used kites being posted for more than what you can buy new lol. I sometimes send them the links to the new kites that are less than they are asking for. The reply is usually, but with me you save tax and shipping lol. Crazy people. Sorry, google what your kite is going for new and...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

You don't need ultralight construction in a foil kite if you plan to ride a twin-tip... Total waste of money, and the kite is less durable. Ultralight construction is for hydrofoiling in less than 7-8 knots. Seriously, you should spring the $925 for the 21 meter kestrel and get maybe the 12 as your ...
