Re: Foil quick mount

I've always preferred set-ups that can fit in the back of my compact hatch-back without any need for disassembly. I really liked having a 72 cm strut, and not just for easy transportation, but i broke mine, and with a bit of rearrangement I can still just throw my kite-foil board with a 92cm strut r...

Re: The future of foiling

Foil Drive is a very interesting option, but it's probably about the same cost as a quality e-foil, or even more if you want to tailor your setup to your specific area of interest. Still, depending on your interests, it remains an interesting option. As for the future of hydrofoiling; at this point ...

Re: 20m LEI Kites - Its Time

Yeah boards are awesome I love them and have a lot of really nice options personally, its so nice to be able to choose the perfect one for any set of conditions or mood and to change things up. Kites are the same way it can be so nice to have just the right size/model to maximize a session and/or d...

Re: High Pressure kite by Bruno Legaignoux

For wind-powered sports, black ice is the fastest surface available to modern technology. Ice yacht sailors in certain portions of the Upper Midwest dream about it... I moved to Florida about 18 years ago, but I suppose I have traveled at at least highway speeds on good ice, using a four-line open-c...

Re: Do you need Aluula Kites?

Trent, could it be a small number of people with an axe to grind are influencing you? I first rode Aluula black in 2019 at AWSI when Aluula gold was on struts but not yet used in demo kites. We have been selling Aluula Gold since they first hit the market and delamination has happened to zero of th...

Re: Soul v1 10m dropping like a stone after jumps

This is the most likely problem. Check this one first, because the solution is much simpler than messing around with the mixer. I had the same problem. For me the bridle was well tuned but the kite lines weren't. I didn't notice when riding as I was never fully sheeted in but turns out I was backsta...

Re: Do you need Aluula Kites?

Delamination on the gold-colored Aluula kites seems to be a real issue. I saw one post in my Facebook feed talking about it, where one response suggested to keep a brand new kite no longer than three months before selling it. It almost seems like a replay of the whole debacle with Best Kites "Cuben ...

Re: Hydrofoil bolts

For sure it's the wrong hardware.

And in the photo the bolts look undersized.

Though it's not a sure thing, I would not be surprised if the mounting tracks are damaged.

Re: Flysurfer Peak 5

I'm still enjoying the overall simplicity of the Peaks and the smaller sizes are so much fun to fly in their sweet spots! If I had to pick, the 4m is my favorite. And the 8m is my least - but it has saved me numerous times when the wind was not enough for the 6m. Not sure what I would replace the 8...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 5

At around 84kg. and still on Peak4s, I disagree. 11-12 knots minimum for the 5 meter if you want to ride knee-high plus waves, and at the bottom end you might have to work a bit. I ride the 633, and I don't think the board makes much difference once you become proficient enough to get on foil immedi...
