Re: Cedrus Evolution Wind Demos La Ventana

According to athletes who've ridden back to back with the new Pro Ultra HM, it feels very similar in terms of stiffness but different in other characteristics (flex profile, glide, stability). It is stiffer than the Classic and Clydesdale versions of Project Cedrus, and stiffer than any other Axis m...

Cedrus Evolution Wind Demos La Ventana

Just a quick post to let you wind foilers know we'll be coming to La Ventana next week with a couple new Cedrus Evolution Wind masts: 80 and 85cm. We should have adapters for Axis, Unifoil, Takuma M8, and an Armstrong fuselage. If you're interested in checking it out, let me know and we can try to c...

Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

Thanks. Not trying to hijack the post but Project Cedrus was available in a 96cm length (101+ assembled) for over 2 years. I've removed that option as I re-tool and prototype my new manufacturing process, just trying to keep tooling costs and complexity down at the moment. The 90cm mast assembles to...

Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

The one shown is definitely for a Kraken. Maybe he has another for the old M6, but that is not what is shown. I'm not making any assumptions, I have worked with Jim and I know he rides the Kraken mast and that is what is shown. Also, I want to clarify that I'm not suggesting the Triton has a weak co...

Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

You must not have read my post. The screw failed in tension. The screw failed in tension because the adapter has a butt joint to the wing, which imparts a tensile load in the screws when subject to the rolling loads. There are really two joints here, one is mast foot->adapter, and we would call this...

Re: Triton Foils releases the first accessible monowing: Triton T1

The long mast had little, if any effect on the failure of the adapter/screw as the bending moment in the joint is due to eccentric compression loads from the rider on the rail of his board. Mast length, contrary to continued popular belief, has little to do with the stresses in the joints, under nor...

Re: Gong Mast rigidity: Carbon pro v Alu V2 v Others

The disclaimers are clear, however the data is still very misleading. Without any testing, one knows that a 19mm thick Cedrus is going to be stiffer than the 16mm thick Slingshot Aluminum. But because you tested without a mount, and even tested different lengths, the calculated stiffnesses are compl...
