Re: Foiling and hitting marine life :(

Accidentally hitting sea life that just happens to be in the fight path is unfortunate. On a related topic, I've always wondered whether flashy colorful hydrofoil wings moving quickly through the ocean can attract BIG hunting sea creatures just like a fishing spoon or lure might. Has anyone ever be...

Re: now foil kiters are saying their kites drift better

i was being polite saying "...as well.." just my opionion but the wave 4.5 is the best drifting kite i've personally flown. (and i own and fly a peak4 frequently) the CA wave also holds/stays at apex better....and it relaunches very well (more or less on its own) also my opinion.. because of poor r...

Re: Moses 2019

I have a Moses Onda 633 wing. I want to accelerate my learning of tack/gybe foot switches which I'm finding a little tricky. I understand that both the 683s and 790 wings are a little more stable than the 633... but I cant decide which of these 2 wings would be better for progression? I’d say keep ...

Re: An inflatable kitefoil board that actually works?

i like my nobile split twintips...but the their split foilboards are poorly balanced and made my learning to foil 10x more difficult than it needed to be. i wouldnt recommend. i'd check out newind's splitboards.. http://www.newind.net/foilboards/ i recently saw a split t38 limited in the wild...and ...

Re: Lip sun protection?

Tried using a sun scarf but when it got wet I could hardly breathe thru it. So I went back to cheap No Ad 50 spf sunscreen. I put it on my face, neck, ears, nose, and lips 30 min. before I hit the water. I don't put it on my forehead so it doesn't run into my eyes from the spray and I wear a hat. H...

Re: Lip sun protection?

I used to buy the fancy zinc sticks but realised you can buy zinc cream from the pharmacy for less than half the price I put it on thick so my lips are totally white and then reapply after a good few crashes. If I was busy teaching a lot and the weather was really intense I would wear a uv block Bu...

Re: Race lines

yes. maybe it is all mental.. but long racelines seem to help(me) especially with waterstarts. racelines=less drag less drag=i can move my kite faster than normal kite moving faster than normal=more force?= i could use a smaller kite(in general) smaller kites doesnt get in the way(in surf) or throw ...

Re: Anyone using the Moses Onda wings in real waves?

From compatibility perspective I'd be considering 790 or 873 wings - you have everything else for those i prefer a 790 (or a ketos xl carver) on waves (or anywhere else) 790 handles much better in my hands(compared to 633)...doesnt get jumpy when carving tight with speed. 790 feels similar to surfb...

Re: Flysurfer Peak 4

Thanks. My weight is 76 Kg. and my foil combos are: Groove Skate L/M and MHL Lift 170 /110, Ketos Pocket and V1200/Freeride 2/Wave. With the high lift foils (MHL 170/Ketos V1200) the wind ranges are the followings: - 3 m, not yet tested; - 4 m, 14 to 35 Knots; - 5 m, 12 to 23 Knots; - 8 m, 8 to 20 ...
