I took an old spreader bar, cut the hook off, filed it smooth, drilled holes near both ends, and had a welder weld some short pass-through tubes in and then put a piece of dyneema between to create what looks similar to the mystic bar above. I ditched the hook entirely and went to a sliding type of harness where I close the chicken loop around a rope that forms the spreader bar. Loop slides to my hip when riding toeside and no more hook dings. excellente . An example of this is the Ride Engine option bar http://www.rideengine.com/GEAR/A...

I am thinking this would also depend on how the foil is trimmed/tuned as some foils or the way they are set causes them to lift more as the speed increases.

my Dakine Renegade packs flat if you remove the bar. Of course it has some memory and wants to curl but it will pack flat and is about 1 " thick in the middle.

might have to make little pigtail gender changers as the loops are knots and the knots are loops, when compared to a North kite anyway. Airush is from the Southern hemisphere everything rotates the other way yo.
