Re: Getting into bad habits learning downloops

Yes ago I got into the habit, bad or not, of flipping the bar before my loops. Now I don't even think about it and exit the move with straight lines. Purists don't like this.

Re: Drilling mast

Great Idea. I had to adjust the holes on my Ghost Whisperer mast base to fit the holes on the Kanaha Shapes. As I recall, the carbon destroyed drill bits. This is why I simply elongated the mast base holes with a Dremel tool. It only needed 1/2 inch to fit.

Re: Mast position - explain like I am 5

The original Liquid Force Fish when it was released told us to place the mast as far back as possible... but this was only for the first hour or two so as to get familiar with the mast and hardware under you. Once your stable move it forward and start flying. Also... I don't like your rear foot insi...

Re: waxing kite lines

Wax doubles the life of my leaders and chicken lines. I'm in Michigan so it's good to know I'll have to give up wax if I move to Mexico. I do love Mexico but it would be so hard to give up winter. I really do love kiting on the ice and snow    Alright. Now you're going to need to tea...

Re: waxing kite lines

Next time you kite in the tropics with this setup you'll discover the error of this wax concept. Attracts sand like glue, then with each use of your control bar you're grinding this sand into the weave of the cords. Destroyed mine. It was a very hard Bow Wax at 60 degrees.. a sticky mess at 85 degr...

Re: waxing kite lines

In my case, I only applied wax (for ski) on the trim rope. The result is not sticky and more rigid. I've not tried it yet on the water (there's no wind at the moment). Next time you kite in the tropics with this setup you'll discover the error of this wax concept. Attracts sand like glue, then with...

Re: waxing kite lines

Someone suggested putting melted paraffin wax on the lines that go through the control bar to reduce friction and wear on the lines. Would this idea be a good one to reduce wear on all the kite lines? What are the pros and cons? A few years ago on this advice I purchase some Bow Wax. This is super ...

Re: Boxer Water Re-Launch?

I have the 8mtr Cloud and make sure I stay close to shore when using it in the lower wind ranges on a big wing. My 8m Cloud has been my light wind foiling kite for over 2 years. Knock on wood, but it's rare for me to swim or rescue with that 8. The light wind launch and ride through near nothing is...

Re: Boxer Water Re-Launch?

Do you maybe pump the kite too hard for light wind? I don't have them but I made the mistake of pumping kites too hard and then they didn't bend well. My light wind relaunch isn't the best either I try to pull the middle lines and one outer while doing big strokes with my legs for extra resistance....

Its possible you are flying the boxer in foil kite winds.
Yes, very possible. I'm pushing this 8m Boxer down into the 10mph and less winds while riding a large 633-like foil wing on a strapless pocket board. Maybe I should have a beer instead.
