Re: Kite-foiling somewhere nice in February?

If you live on the W coast of the US it's hard to beat the convenience of a quick flight to San Jose del Cabo and then 40 minutes to Los Barrilles, Baja California. I've traveled to both Mexico and a Caribbean and Mx is less costly. Bja season is Dec-April

Re: iUp by Taaroa - the first intelligent hydrofoil

When I was first learning and had less intuitive awareness of height, mast, and impending breach crash... I was wishing there were simple sensors along the mast to trigger a jolt or something to alert me where I was.

Re: Line strength for hydrofoiling ?

I've recently purchased Alluula Roam kites and I'm flying them with a North Click Bar with it's heavy standard lines. Having come from Clouds I feel the Aluula Roam kite weighs the same or lighter, but without my Ozone Race lines I notice a line weight difference. This is noticeable with water relau...

Re: Best kite for hydrofoil?

One big advantage with the Aluula kites - I assume - is that they work equally well with a SB as with a foil. This somewhat helps to mitigate the high cost. Yes, On a recent day in Washington State wind storm conditions I rigged my 8m Aluula Roam. I parked my Celeritas on the beach and went out for...

Re: Best kite for hydrofoil?

I’ve used Ultra’s, Peaks, Clouds and UFO’s. For relaunch the Clouds and UFO’s are the go in 10 knots and over, 6.2 in the Cloud or 7 mtr in the UFO. The low aspect no struts just roll over and launch so easy. If you need a strut look at the Slingshot Ghost, very similar to the UFO but with a strut....

Re: Recommended 1 strut for big wing hydrofoiling?

For light wind water relaunch, play with the opposit front line and don`t oversheet. Then the water relaunch of a 2020 9m Boxer works great. Also the solid, more opened shape gives him the performance of most 3 strutters. It could be a bit lighter. You are correct with that... opposite front line (...

Re: Recommended 1 strut for big wing hydrofoiling?

I've been on Clouds for 5 years. I then purchased a 2020 Naish Boxer thinking I'd move away from strutless. Nice kite but my gawd was it a bear to water relaunch in light conditions. I know you're asking about 1-strut.... But I absolutely love my 5 & 8m 2020 OR Roam Aluula 3-strut kites. In so many ...

Try wearing socks. Be careful you cant walk around in neoprene socks the soles wear out. Also maybe get a thinner boot. Thick boots are just so difficult to use.
Yes. These problems with foot-switching arrived with colder weather and thick booties.

Is there a site where we can see some of these moves on a video?
