Re: Foiling in shallow water

I have only tried this in underpowered extremely light wind (8 ish knots, needing multiple big loops to get going) 2 sessions and then could not really get it to work and needed at least 10cm of “clearance”, maybe even a bit more. I would think in a bit higher winds with some lift from the kite it’s...

Re: Single strut kite in strong wind

which she has been using in Tarifa in high and gusty winds for several months now. The kite is perfect conditions. I don't think "used in Tarifa in high and gusty winds for several months " and " kite is perfect conditions" can both be True :D Sure it might not have rips or had repairs but e.g. the...

Re: I had a dream - hydrofoil trick

Not sure how feasible it is without kite lift and if anyone with enough skill would even care to try. It is already badass if you can do it with some kite lift and without the added risks that come with higher forward momentum. Also, it probably needs to be strapless and that sorta makes it look ver...

Re: Kitefoil and Crave H-L Ocean Rodeo

I thought Giel pretty much only rides the Rise doing big air and not the Crave. I don't really follow the competitions so I could be wrong. Also I would guess these pros can jump high with any kite so not sure if thats a good indication :D My roam 10m only has one connection point for the rear lines...

Re: Kitefoil and Crave H-L Ocean Rodeo

Maybe they don't rate it super high for foil because there are better low wind options? Note that they still give it 7 out of 10, so it is not crap in their rating, just not the best that they offer. I could imagine this is especially true for the sub 10 knot range and for people riding waves. Howev...

Re: Edge V9 but lighter bar pressure

In my experience the Aluula kites from OR have extremely low bar pressure, even less then foil kites.
If you dont't want a foil kite for some reason and have an big piggy bank try to demo one.

Re: Kiteboard weight

Note that carbon usually means a stiffer board and that can be heavy on the knees. Obviously a lighter board can feels lighter / more nimble to ride (also depends heavily on shape/size) and saving weight can be nice for doing board-off kind of things. For just average riding style I would doubt that...

Re: Somali-jet

Well, I would say there is a difference between a topic that is about posting pictures and general info threads where usefull info can easily get buried. I would argue that adding another 100 same looking daily weather charts isn't adding anything to this thread (and makes usefull info harder to fin...

Hahaha, this is wrecking your nerves, doesn´t it ? I understand you so well !
Not really I prefer sub 20 knot wind for foiling and that can be found in a lot of places.
IMHO all these images are just making this thread useless for anyone trying to read it.

Re: Somali-jet

Not sure why you keep posting weather maps. Sure it has great winds, you made your point, are you going to keep posting every day? Reality is for most of us either the local security situation is to crazy to consider, it is way to expensive or it doesn't appeal for other reasons (I would imagine its...
