Re: which aquaseal is the right one?

In dry weather I leave a damp rag adjacent to this type of Pu glue repair. Not done any comparative testing but the logic seems ok to me.

Re: Please help to unscrew foil mast

As already said if forced to drill use coolant, go slow (charts for drill bit material and size are available), use coolant and take a break. Stainless steel is not necessarily hard to start with but it will work harden if it gets too hot. Using a good quality cobalt drill bit with point geometry gr...

Re: which aquaseal is the right one?

Not had to buy in any new Pu glue recently but I intend to try Seamgrip. If you do a forum search for this you should find some feedback from some that have used it. If memory serves it has a slightly lower viscosity than the FD and has more flex but long cure time.

Re: Slingshot Sentry control bar question

I do NOT use stoppers on my fly lines. If I have dropped the kite and the sea state will not allow a relaunch; I would continue to control where it sat in the window and influence the direction of drift looking for opportunities to relaunch and being prepared to completely release if kite is munched...

Re: Slingshot Sentry control bar question

I don’t know the specifics of the bar but it is personal choice on whether to use a stopper ball on a front line flag. Personally I think the benefits of keeping the flying lines clean out weighs the benefits of attaching a stopper but others may disagree. Not using a stopper may mean that you have ...

Re: What causes jellyfishing?

I would not have the temerity to claim to have a cure for such things. Nor do I have the desire to rehearse all I know about, bridle design, pressurised tube bending and buckling or oscillating systems and, in any case, there are too many variables to be one cure for each. In truth I would need to s...

Re: What causes jellyfishing?

Spork I have an old 10.5m Flexi Ion 3, purchased second hand. Always was a bit of a buckler if not carefully flown. Buckling on that one, if anything seemed worse in light winds, probably being cranked hard though. It has got progressively worse, recoverable if only one side loaded, but if both side...

Re: What causes jellyfishing?

To me they are very different and jellyfishing it is not a flappy thing. For example if you look at a round parachute at first deployment you will see it oscillate just like a jellyfish as the springiness of the system settles down. This can also be seen when jumping with some kites, old C kites in ...

Re: What causes jellyfishing?

What is your definition of jellyfishing?

Is it an oscillation with the tips flaring in and out at a particular frequency?

Or is it the leading edge buckling and the tips folding in as the LE kinks, usually occurring when loaded up?
