Re: Hydrofoil Concussion Protection

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bangproof/bangproof-water-sports-helmet-hats I don't think this was designed with hydrofoils in mind, but its cool to see these next-gen impact foams making their way to water sports. For cycling they made a crumple zone style helmet that also outperforms any har...

Re: Moses 2019-2020-2021 SABfoil

- yeah will do later on today. when I got it, there was no cracking through the connection point, it was more so just poorly sand or refinished. That should have been my first warning sign, but oh well. I just used solarez to build up some sections that were sanded down too much to level off the bev...

Re: Moses 2019-2020-2021 SABfoil

question for the carbon repair pro's, I picked up a moses 111 comet used that needed a bit of work on the connection point when I got it. I scuffed it up to help the solarez stick and built up the bits that weren't flat. I got it to the point where it was a perfect fit based on measurements from my ...

Re: Sanding my wing is safe?

I sand my race foils and use a variety of paper but finish with 1200 or 1500 but different water needs different grit to be stable, fast and performant. I also tried sanding my moses onda surf foil but i just sanded the bottom surface so the top still looks nice, not sure it made any difference to ...

Re: Sanding my wing is safe?

I tried out an 800 grit finish on my moses 800 wing and didn't care for the feel vs factory finish with scratches building up. I dry sanded it quick with 2000 grit before my last session and in my opinion I liked that a lot better. I need to do a proper wet sanding with the 2000 grit and try it a fe...

Re: An ikitesurf classifieds adventure

Be careful with all the cabrinha products for $200-400 as well. There's been a ton of traffic posting super sketchy moto's and switchblades. Sometimes you'll see the same pictures for various prices from different locations around the country within minutes of each other. Remember to check to see if...

Re: Moses 2019-2020-2021 SABfoil

what do you find is your max top speed and "comfy" top speed on the 800? I was out for about 35 miles yesterday and was pushing it as fast as I could go to rack up miles, and found I could max out at almost 26mph. average riding speed was more like 22-24mph really which at 80kg with a 91cm mast, thi...

Re: Do-it-All Kites: Who Should & Shouldn't Use Them

It's probably not a big deal if you're chilling (mowing the lawn on the foil, throwing some lofty jumps on TT, etc), but when you're pushing the boundaries of whatever sport you're switching too, I think there's something to be said for the muscle memory that has to be retrained when switching style...

Re: Kite quiver for TT and Foil suggestions

+1 for the 9m UFO for lightwind. It still gets you going in 9-10kts like a giant one strut but is actually fun to fly and will stay in the air if the wind drops for a bit. After flying the UFO you won't want to use anything else. I've heard lots of good things about peaks, just make sure you've got ...
