Re: Ram Airs suck in Light Winds (Updated 2023)

Just my experience: I am an experienced kitefoiler. Last year I bought a Ozone Hyperlink. Too much hassle for me. A lot of swimming. It was a mess. Now I am back with a one strut light wind kite. Very easy to use, not significantly less power. I think I won´t go back. Sure this is already discussed ...

Re: Anyone checked the slingshot code v1 for foiling?

I did exactly this. From Ufo to Code. I started with replacing the 9. It has more lift (not much but now I can do way more tacks without touchdown). It feels heavier but I got used to it. The relaunch is way worse - you need to reverse relaunch instead of the super easy relaunch of the Ufo. Don't ex...

Anyone checked the slingshot code v1 for foiling?

Hi, I am not happy withe the UFO V2 for freestyle strapless kitefoiling. I do a lot of tacks and I need a kite with more lift. Anyone rode the code already? thx

Re: Next Slingshot UFO/Ghost Kite Generation

My main reason for switching to the UFO from the SST was the higher lift. I needed something that would give me more time for my upwind tack tricks. Sorry, but I absolutely cannot confirm. For me the SST has way more lift and is way more suitable for tacking than all versions of the UFO. What´s oth...

What to do if foilkite lies leading edge towards me?

Hi,
what can I do if the foilkite (in my case hyperlink) lies on the surface, leading edge pointing in my direction? In very low wind?
Pulling thr frontlines only puts more water into it. Pulling the backlines has also no effect.

Must I swim towards the kite and flip it over?

Thx

tacking with foilkite - Hyperlink collapses

Hi, I am new to foilkites (Hyperlink 9sqm). I am quite good at tacking strapless foilboard. With inflatables I always sheet out completely at a certain point. When I do this with the hyperlink it collapses and falls from the sky. I understand that foilkites are different. What should I do while tack...

Re: Hyperlink collapses and fills with water

Second and third session: This went out sooo much better. I could get the Hyperlink dry back to the beach, even when it collapsed at the zenith again. Just pulled the brakeline, swam aggressively into the wind, and this way I could save it. Thanks to all for your hints!

Re: Hyperlink collapses and fills with water

Concerning the "How to water relaunch a foil kite when bridles wrapped around it": Sure I understand that it´s a problem if the foilboard drifts fast downwind in the direction of the kite. I just wonder if it´s a good idea to simply open the chickenloop and close it around the fuselage? Then it shou...

Re: Hyperlink collapses and fills with water

@keegster17: So funny to read that you did exactly the same shit I was doing. Now we know better! I watched a lot of videos and read through this forum. At the very first time I rigged up the hyperlink in my garden, this was helpful. One question: If I want to pack the kite in the deep water: Should...
