Re: Lift 250 surf v2 or 250 HA

I learned on the 250HA. It is not realy a high aspect shape. I still keep it for light wind riding fitted with a Glide 38 tail wing. It is very stable for learning yet I find it glides and turns well enough for light wind sessions. SB is right. The 200HA is a better all-around wing but it does not h...

Re: Lift 2021

Looks like the 90HA has been released. I don't know about availability though. I was hoping for a 150HA to fill the gap between the 170HA and 120HA. Some us like beers & burgers... Another tail wing too. Lift 26 Carve. Awfully close to the 25 in size, but a different shape. Interesting times... YMMV

Re: Lift 100 Surf V2, 32 Glide Stab

I haven't ridden the 100 V2 yet. Current Lift foils are the 120HA and 170HA with 25 tails for winging. From experience you may find the 32 tail a touch large for the 100 V2. The tail will dampen down the foil as you get used to the speed (it shoud be a rocket!) and performance, but as you progress y...

Re: Sewing canopy zig zag - not wirking

The normal zig zag stitiching in a kite canopy or sail is usually a triple step or wave form. This triple step reduces the chance of bunched material. The repair can be done with a domestic sewing machine but the thread tension has to be very low to prevent bunching. Thusly, the seam will not be as ...

Re: Re-Coating a Kite / Wing?

When I raced 49ers, Olympic sailing skiff, we used to marinate the spinnakers in McLube Sailkote. Filled a garden mister and sprayed down the sail while it hung by two of the corners. This helped the spinnaker slide in the dousing sock and also limited water saturation of the ripstop. Wear a respira...

Re: Wing Harness Line

Any line will do. When I use a harness, I use a simple 3/16" double braid rope with a vinyl hose cover. It is simple to copy the F-One harness line. I would not recommend having an elastic line. Difficulty hooking in from the beginning and the elastic (bungie cord) that small will stretch out after ...

Re: Lift 2021

"This is all with a 50 tail. I'll try a 40 tail soon." Go right to the 34 tail. You won't be disappinted. I run a modified 200 Classic with the 34 tail for kiting. Great in any wind and spins around with ease. From comparing the 200 Classic to the 200 Surf V1. The Surf V1 seemed to have a thicker fo...

Re: Kite foiling set to die almost completely out as wing foiling takes hold

Don't get me wrong. I'm not selling my kite foil gear. I originally thought winging was not for me. My original kite "pusher" said " You gotta try this." I have since eaten my fair share of crow... I enjoy both. Kite foiling and wing foiling are complimentary. Each has their condition where they shi...
