Re: High wind hydrofoiling

I’m having the opportunity to get Neo 5 for the good price. Is it going to be good strong wind kite for foiling? What can I expect in the terms of range? 75 kg rider with 1100 cm2 surf foil. Thats’s +/- me. I weight 75 kgs, ride a 1100 cm2 Liquid Force Impulse, and I have 9, 7 and 5 Neos. I use the...

Re: Wing surf in waves, onshore?

Would like to try but...all these videos looks super fun just foil kiting...plenty of wind and waves and a smaller board to rip. I mean think about it. They seem incredibly stoked flying slowly on a huge board, imagine having more speed control and turning sharper on a smaller foil board... What ha...

Re: Wingfoil boom or handles?

Hello Peter. Here is my experience. I demoed the Duotone (boom), assuming I was going to buy it. I use Duotone kites, and I like the brand. But then ended up buying a F-One Swing (handles), even though it was a 20% more expensive and I had to wait 3 weeks for it. My choice wasn’t related with the bo...

Re: Wingsurf/wingfoil, foilwing size

My 2 cts: I’ve being kite foiling for +/- 4 years and a couple of months ago I started wing foiling. If you are comfortable on a foil, and know how to windsurf, it’s a no brainer. I practiced a bit with the wing on the beach, and then just stood on the board, grabbed the wing and foiled away on the ...

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

So you think/see it is a lot easier to get out in onshore breaking waves than on a kitefoil Oz? Wouldn't expect this, even if having not to many sessions in serious waves with kitefoil and wingfoil, but quite some on windsurfer. With the kitefoil you are pretty fast to do a loop and start inbetween...

Re: Anyone tried foiling with a wing?

Am I right in thinking they might work well as a high wind setup for a kite foil for those not chasing speed? E.g. for your low wind setup you'll have a little buoyancy in your board anyway. Then once the wind picks up (and invariably gets more gusty) then instead switching to a 4/5m kite, you chan...

Re: Who are the foilers?

Just wait and see. Of a total of about 30 kiters on a good day, a friend and I were the only foilers at my local spot for more than two years. After two seasons of watching us have fun, while they stayed dry, waiting for wind; now there are 6 or 8 foils more, and most others are planning to buy one ...

Re: North Hybrid foil board

Dont buy North foils. There are better options. North are SLOW and UNSTABLE worst possible combination. Why do you say they are slow and unstable? Compared to what? I’m not an expert at all, but I’ve being foiling for two years now. My normal ride is a LF Happy Foil, and I recently bought an Impuls...

Re: Straps or strapless poll

Hello Peter. Thanks for the advice. Actually I can waterstart without straps in ‘normal conditions’, and I take them out now and then. But in marginal wind, when the kite is waiting to fall out of the sky at the first chance, I rather have both hands free to move the kite overhead, change the AOA or...

Re: Straps or strapless poll

I don’t know how to answer. My fuselage is very heavy, so I need the straps to water start. So I have 2 straps in my board. The back one is in the further back position, and the front ones is set perpendicular to the cord of the board, as further front as possible. This setup gives me a lot of empty...
