Re: Drone recommendations

... Just saw this - Yes, just not with a kiter. It tracked my wife kayaking out to the reef fine, and my kids ice skating on the lake this winter. I'm a little bummed to hear it doesn't do well with kiters... I would have only used that if you were filming one kiter. The avoidance sensors work for ...

Re: Drone recommendations

... Well, if you are in Rio Grande do Norte around July/August, I could record one of your sessions :D This year we're coming back to Ceará since the last two were in RN. You'll enjoy a lot there. Amazing Brazilian state to explore in a kite trip :thumb: No drone images of myself yet :nono:

Re: Visa required for Brasil Oct 1st

Good news! Less bureaucracy for travelers coming to Brazil this year. Marcel Van Hattem, a brazilian congressman, just posted on his X's profile (Twitter) that the block of opposition congressmen managed to postpone the VISA exempt for citizens from US, Canada and Australia. Marcel is also proposing...

Re: Drone recommendations

autopilot and folow dont work well , well if u have a high constrast kite, it might... now, on many countries u can have a drone that flies alone, u need someone as back up, if something goes wrong. the more wind, the more unstable the drone or might have hard time to go back home if it went downwi...

Re: Drone recommendations

I bought a Mini 4 Pro with the Fly More package and RC2 remote. I've used it in Hatteras, Turks and Cayman for kiting in winds up to 25kts. It works fine for higher winds in Sport mode. The battery life (the Flight Plus) gives me an easy 30 min. of video on one battery even in higher winds and Spor...

Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

You probably have a leash/flagout line, and if just you let the bar go you’ll be dragged by the kite Technically yes but if I have a big fall in the water I have 1 thing to manage which is steering the kite - which is above my head and trying to pull me up out of the water... ie where I want to be....

Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

... can barely ride upwind . I have seen quite a few wing foilers swim back to shore with deflated wings in the last week. I didn't know it was hard to go upwind with a foil... :nono: seriously, I never saw a beginner struggling to go upwind with a wing after he learned how to fly (indefinetely). I...

Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

something that nobody mentioned before... Besides the worse field of view, in winging you can't count with a free hand all the time as in kiting. You only have a free hand when riding a wave or hooked, very well balanced, in a clean wind  and... who cares?! Well... if you try to record a friend...

Re: Why is wingfoiling so popular?

I'm also trying to figure out what's behind the wingfoil's hype. I've been practicing wingfoil since last November. Coming from foil with kites, it was not hard to learn. Much more physically demanding than learning foil with kites for sure but I can't measure if it's easier or not for a noobie. I'v...
