Re: Self launch and self land option

Its a modified collapsible walking stick, about 80cm long.
Bury half in the sand at an angle into the wind, 40cm is enough to catch the kite.

Re: Self launch and self land option

I've been having great success for about a year now with the self landing stick with no signs of wear or damage to the kite.
After a little practise its very easy to lay the kite down on the spot.

Easy to make and packs up small.

Re: Foil Kite Self Landing Stick

Vey little stress on bridles and kite as the kite lays down very fast with no pressure.
Much less stress on the kite than flagging on one line, especially in higher winds.

Foil Kite Self Landing Stick

After watching Shingo Hayakawa-sans Foil Kite Catcher video, I liked the idea but thought the catcher could be simplified. So i took an old walking stick, about 80cm long and added a tennis ball to the end so there,s nothing sharp to damage the kite on. I also put on a small flag as to make it easy ...

Re: Recoating kite fabric

Yes but there's a difference between a coating for sealing air and a coating waterproofing.
My kite holds air well, i just needed to re-waterproof it, which this product does well.

Re: Recoating kite fabric

I remembered years ago i had success re-waterproofing my Gortex ski jacket using a simple wash in product. Just put the jacket in the washing machine with the product, dry it and it worked really well. So i thought i might try this with my old Ozone Chrono which really turned into a soggy mess when ...
