Re: Do you need Aluula Kites?

The cracking in the gold is not a big deal. The gold layer is only a UV protectant, it does not affect the strength.

It doesn't look great but it only happens after lots of use. My first gen Roam and Flite are still not cracking but I have seen it in our shop on higher hour wings and kites.

Re: Dacron and Aluula Performance in cold temperatures

I run an Aluula repair center and have snow kited with Aluula. I have not noticed any affects of the colder temps on the fabric.

Re: Do you need Aluula Kites?

I have been on Aluula kites for a few years. I am intermediate rider. My 14.5 is a session saver, the ability to stay up during the lulls is incredible. This gives confidence and has reduced my swims back to the beach considerably. I'm still on Dacron kites for the sizes below 12m due to cost. The f...

Re: Aluula Aeris: an even lighter Aluula

I have had some samples of the Aeris fabric in hand, ots very exciting. I repair kites and wings. This canopy material is incredible. Not sure how the sample I had stacks up against the production version but I was not able to rip it by hand. Incredible. Not good for the kite repair shop😥

Re: Introducing the Ocean Rodeo Crave A-Series

Wear point.

This hasn't been an issue with my HL Craves.

The Crave has been a lot of fun, can't wait to try the full Aluula version.

Re: Modern Kite Longevity- 2022 North Orbit ~1 year

It depends who does the repair. At our shop (Comox Kite Repair) we offer a lifetime warranty on our fabric repairs. If done properly it will be trouble free.

Re: Do high PSI LE break faster?

It all hinges on diameter. The bigger the diameter the more tension the fabric is under at a given psi. Inflate your kite to 6. Flick it at it's largest diameter section, stiff and firm. Go to a wing tip, much smaller diameter and it's soft. Still at 6 psi. The larger diameter gives more surface are...

Re: Ocean Rodeo Crave HL - any improvement/change ?

Yes they improved, huge weight loss on the 21 over the 20. In 2021 OR came out with the HL Hybrid Light kites. They are 25% lighter than standard Dacron kites. In 2022 they moved the 1 pump valves a bit, likely some other small changes too but not huge. It's a fast lovely kite to fly, light. You won...

Re: Exploding bladder prediction

Bladders don't explode unless the leading edge is opened up. What can happen is a rupture where the bladder was not seated and properly supported. Most common place for this to happen is on a wing tip. This will cause rapid deflation. A bladder is approx 10% bigger than the leading edge, the bladder...
