Re: Rip curl flash bomb or e-bomb 4/3 for capetown?

4/3 is most used. This season was my girlfriend's first experience of water less than 28oC as she is from Camocim in Brazil! Despite looking for the penguins and icebergs she stays warm while surfing and kiting in Ripcurl E7 E-Bomb 4/3 😎 She found using booties helps a lot (O'Neill Heat Ninja 3mm) s...

Re: Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

I did some research last year into the best consistent "strong wind" (>22 knots) spots by month and here is a summary: https://www.screencast.com/t/Fgrgjpe8m Some months there is a lot more options than others as you can see. I wonder why Maui didn’t make the list? I'm sure there are other spots th...

Re: Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

Hard part for us is finding beautiful spots with strong wind in Europe. I don't normally go out unless it's at least 20 knots 😊

Re: Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

I "just want" a nice village. Obviously the definition of nice will not be an objective one. I love Southern European villages. Cabarete is nice along the beach, but the complete village is hardly a beautiful place. In Cumbuco there is at least seemingly some normal life. Living in a place permanen...

Re: Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

I hear you, at least in Cumbuco you can walk the street and not get continually hounded by motorcyclists trying to sell you anything they can :) Cape Town is definitely the most rounded and diverse place I've been to, that would be easiest for a Westerner to adapt to also being English speaking, alt...

Re: Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

how long can u stay in brazil as a tourist? Depends on where you are coming in from - but normally 90 days. They allow some countries to extend up to 180 days at Polícia Federal in Fortaleza, but not others - I found it difficult to find accurate information online. I found process is straightforwa...

Re: Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

The advantage of working online is you can play a bit of an arbitrage game i.e. earning money in 1st world country and living/spending in 3rd world countries. The currencies in all the countries I mentioned outside of Europe are currently weak (Brazil, South Africa & Colombia) so the cost of living ...

Re: Where Should I Move To Retire & Kite?

So tough to find 1 location that is good year-round - it has also been a personal quest of mine in the last few years. I'm from the UK and looking for places to work online while kiting, surfing and exploring with my Brazilian girlfriend, and eventually hopefully raise a family and retire. Although ...

Re: Ozone Enduro Quiver

The OP says ... ... so given that he's been "kiting since 2020" it is unlikely that suitability for big air or strapless is currently high on his list of requirements ... I prefer not to make assumptions as my first year kiting in 2018 on Enduro V2s I spent 2 months in Dom Rep followed by 4 months ...
