Re: Good beginner spot / school in Greece (October)?

My advice would be to find a place that you are going to like even if there is no wind. Because at October noone can guarantee that there will be wind. It might even be rainy. For example at Paros, Pounda if it is windy at October it is going to be one of the best spots to learn kitesurfing because ...

Re: First surfboard

Well I finally got the rrd ace v1. Because it is wide , it helps a lot. I am struggling to learn even at this one so happy that I didn't get anything smaller. One of the problems is that it has a front and a back pad , but I put my back foot always (except the turns) in front of the back pad where i...

Re: Snapped a Chicken Loop!

This bar....? Looks a flimsy thing, not surprised it needs parts changing often. https://www.kiteattitude.fr/1070/totem-vario-universal-bar.jpg They just recommend what the afnor standard recommends. So they are just being honest because they know people that are buying for them are not beginners t...

Re: Universal Kitebar

How would your universal bar look like? Personally I think the Reedin Dreamstick X looks pretty perfect - except it should have been wider. If they had a 49-56 or something version and not only a 43-49 I would have bought one yesterday. I agree on the high Y - not sure if I understand why a low V i...

Re: First surfboard

Firstly, I 'd like to thank everybody that contributed to the discussion (that I kind of hijacked). I also found a good offer for an rrd ace v1 (at the simple lte construction) . It is short but wide with plenty of volume. As I understand it will be good for lightwind (they say little rocker) and pl...

Re: First surfboard

The same question also from me who by the way have the same exact weight. But because we don't have proper waves here (just a few days of small waves, usually the water is just a lot choppy) I was thinking of getting a shinnster for my first strapless board and use it also for light wind days. Any t...

Re: Kite advice request: North Reach vs Cabrinha Moto

For the bigger kite of the quiver I would also suggest the contra 15m (if you are below 90 kgrs)

Re: Switch Element v Nano

You keep your kites a long time. I own several Switch Elements and a couple Nitros. I also have Pivots which are my 'go-to' kites, but I like using the Switch kites periodically. A friend bought a new Nano last year so I few my Element V6 back to back comparing the Nano. I found the Nano more respo...

Re: European snow kite recommendations

Hey, I am looking for some place that has guaranteed snow (so like 1500-2000m) and that has regular Charlifts for regular Skiers: I want to make some vaccations with friends, but still be able to take my Kite and shred a little bit in the Backcountry while they Ski. The areas in Poland/Czech I chec...

Re: Acceptance of Prices in kitesurfing

At Europe there are some brands (Gong, Ventum, Takoon, Kauper) that sell straight to the customer and they don't pay proriders, big advertisement and are also small companies that don't pay huge dividends at their shareholders. You can check their prices (they are similar more or less) . Like them o...
