Re: When to replace bar?

I had it with mine too. Just sand and polish it outwards and it will be fine. Since then my depower rope lasts also longer.

Re: When to replace bar?

Hey Iriejohn,

what do you mean with"center lines worn out" when sheeting in and out? Don't you mean the replaceble depower rope? This is the only thing having contact to the bar eye!

Re: Shorter board is less playful...!

But agree with you rombergo, if the OP ride with frontstraps only, he might need more width to stand more leeward with rear foot to feel balanced.

I only ride strapless. Moved the foil a bit to the back and seems to be also a bit better for my style to make the board turn.

When to replace bar?

Hi, I just wanted to make a little poll on how old your bars are and how often (appx) you use them per month. And very important what parts had already to be replaced? And not to forget of course, the brand. My three diffferent size slingy bar are 7 - 8 years old and I use every bar appx. 3 - 4 time...

Re: Shorter board is less playful...!

Hi Peter, that's not me. Unfortunately I have no footage of me, but I stumbled across this clip and thought, that at 2.10 this guy is doing exactly what I was doign formerly (especially that loose). Pictures explain sometimes better zhan 1000 words.... Should mast be more to the back or more to the ...

Re: Shorter board is less playful...!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BxLlH8CD_Q Here at 2.10 sec you can see what I was originally talking about. With my old longer, flexible, novolume board I was easily doing these turns on small chop waves (great fun). But now with my shorter moses 1,20m volume, stiff board, I am no more able to mak...

Re: Slingshot UFO

Can anybody explain me why you need a no strut kite in 3m, 5m and 7m? Even when foiling you need with the 7m at least 13 - 15 Knts and then the low weight doesn't play a big role or am I missing anything? Even more extreme with the 3 and 5m. You lose all the benefits of the struts (1 or 3). Why woul...

Re: Shorter board is less playful...!

Smaller lighter boards will always be more reactive. My take on this. One thing I noticed is the tail shape/thickness of the small board. If very narrow and thick (ala slingshot micro), once flying the board feels very unstable and wobbly in turns. These board shapes are best for racing, so it's ve...

Re: Shorter board is less playful...!

Yeah, thanks Janus, I was thinking the same, but unfortunately it felt unnatural and a bit weird/forced. I had to focus and concentrate even more when carving on waves/swell. It wasn't as natural as on my old flex Duotone board! I always had the desire to move my weight/foot forward... My last hope ...

Re: Shorter board is less playful...!

Thanks Peter, Never the less I will try this later too. Do you have experiences with shimming? I just want this loose and playful feeling back :-( If I want to come close to the behaviour of my old board, I have to lean way more and put more weight into the turns. Especially with the whole body and ...
