Re: Little kite range

I think most 4m lei kites can work for “survival foiling” in 20-40mph winds with some stronger gusts, especially with a surf foil on low end, small foil wing on high end. My 4.5m LF Solo v2 works with 750cm2 strapless foil and 65kg. High wind technique is key, especially in gusty shadowed spots. Go...

Re: Little kite range

blimey they are epic winds you are thinking of Foiling in. I used to have the 6 mtr v4 Reo as well, and never felt i wanted to use any smaller, but you say you might get winds up to around 40knts? I would be heading for a coffee shop not a kite shop. winds that gusty can get worrying on a foil boar...

Re: beginner foil. Duotone spirit or gong foil

Gong freewave!!!. I own the gong surf M (not pro) and i am in love with it, but even being already an experienced foiler, i had to fight one hour to tame its lift the first time. It doesn't allow you to ride the board on the water, and i think it's too much for a beginner. The freewave is the best c...

Little kite range

Hi, since some days i am trying to find out what should be the best little kite to buy, under my 6m reo. I can ride a LF solo v3 from 8/9 knots, and my reo 6m from about 14 knots. I always ride extremely gusty spots in winds like 9 G 18 with the 9m, 15 G 27 where my 6m reo fits still well, and i sti...

Re: Liquid force Solo windrange

So finally i tried. Both, the new spot and the solo v3 9. Wind 8 g 20. The wind was exactly its range, just a bit of flapping in the strongest gusts. In the beginning wind was lighter, 7 knots i think, and at the 2nd jibe the kite was in the water. 😅, Impossible to relaunch till the wind increased....

Re: Peak / Genesis / wing and sup - what to do?

Peak is tops, Genesis > C17?? @Simone - Grazie mille per l'info! I generally go to Caorle or Sottomarina if the wind is better and time permits. Santa Croce is a bit mayhem (I like my launch space ) I'm still looking or the secret spot in the NE of the lagoon (Meno strada da sotto Treviso). A...

Re: Peak / Genesis / wing and sup - what to do?

Hi Mikey, I guess we live more or less in the same region of italy, since you mentioned north Adriatic. I am local rider in Santa Croce lake. Addicted to foil since 3 or 4 years, i ride gong and own a genesis, so i think i can give u a couple of answers. Well, 1st. Gong is awesome. Had other commerc...

Re: 33% or 50% size gap for foiling quiver

I have a slightly different view. 6m is my biggest kite I normally foil on. If I can fly it, I can foil. And a 5m and when that is really uncomfortable I go 7m on a surfboard. I would think 7, 5, and 3.5 Or maybe 6,4, 2.5 If I was going bigger I would think foil kite. What is the lowend of your 6m?...

Re: 33% or 50% size gap for foiling quiver

with 9m mono strut and 6 m wave kite i feel i covered the human range, riding gong surf M strapless. Probably would add a 3.5 m. But it's never so windy where i usually ride.
