Re: Higher jumps

Thanks for this. I've been told that to jump really high you don't need to pop at all, and that it was best to just hold your edge hard and never release it. I can pop pretty well, but I've been told that it ok for medium jumps but not for big ones... opinion or fact? my suggestion is to break it do...

Re: Higher jumps

I guess that I should have been more specific, so here are some more specific questions: Should I hold my edge hard until I am pulled off the water, or should I pop off the water at the very last moment? When I send my kite it usually goes from 2 back to 11 o'clock, does it help to send it more so t...

Higher jumps

I can jump around 3-5 meter jumps pretty easily, but I'm having some difficulty getting much higher. I've been told that it is just a matter of being well powered, decent speed, holding my edge and sending the kite... and letting the kite take me off the water as opposed to releasing the edge as the...

Re: Horrible Kiteloop - Leads to Kitesurfing Ban

Ok, this is bad, but even worse, some jackass there walked to his car in the parking lot to get something that he forgot, with his kite in the air! So picture this, very gusty on-shore wind, busy highway down wind, guy with his kite in the air, in a parking lot! It was so gusty that kites were falli...

US Domestic bag charges on American WTF!!!

Flying from Miami to New York today on American. First bag, $25. Second bag, $35. Overage charge for weight of my kite bag, $50. So $25+$35+$50 = $110 (my ticket was $150). When I told them that my bag was a golf bag they said golf bags are $100!!!! Luckly I said that I had just packed a bunch of st...

Re: Alex Pastor upsets Kevin Langeree, Youri Zoon settles for 3

I have been kiting all over the world this year, and everywhere I go I find people who refuse to kite in anything but waves, and some in anything but flat water, and others who are stoked to just be out there.... Some love waves and only waves, some love old school, some wake style, some all three. ...

Re: New Kite from Takoon: the Chrono

The Velcro quick release is the same one that they and F-One have used for many years. I have never heard of a problem with this type of release, and speaking to a few kite designers from other companies, they think that it could be the best designed release out there.

Article/audio interview about ManOfWar/Blue Bottle Jellyfish

Very interesting article/audio interview about Man Of War / Blue Bottle jelly fish.

Apparently the best treatment is very hot water... Good to know for all of us who have severe reactions.
