Re: Is your harness weaker than your lines?

... release the QR. The hook broke & released the kite a few metres before I hit the the shore, rocks/trees etc. I have an Ion Apex harness but use a Dynabar on it. It's now 3 years old & still working perfectly. :thumb: Not much stress on the hook anyway when using a SB. I'm pretty sure it's freestyle/looping ...

Re: Harness Lasting a lot longer

Very old seat with dynabar here, some sewing here and there and now I'm looking for a new one, straps slipping and wearing off, but youre right with foiling almost no further wear.

Re: Harness Lasting a lot longer

Went through a phase of using the Dynabar all the time, then went back to a fixed hook for TT and D-bar for foil/surf but got sick of changing the spreader bars over. So rather than use a seat harness for everything, I started using a fixed ...

Re: Foil Gybe Advice

... My question slash tip is, are you using a fixed hook spreader bar? I’ve only foiled with one once and it was horribly difficult after using a Dynabar for years... Gone back to using a fixed hook when riding TT and I find it all but impossible to ride toe side now.

... the QR. - 6mm is a little too thick for the QRs I use. I use 6mm shackles because the wheels (just under 6mm ID) fit perfectly. I first used a Dynabar wheel which perfectly fits a 6mm shackle. - The ring is welded at 90 degrees to the shackle which makes the ring horizontal so that the QR I ...

... I had with OEM gear. The dyneema as supplied could pull down to a flat band that was pretty thin. Otherwise solid kit. I am not using any OEM (Dynabar/Jaystor) gear.

Re: mystic stealth bar

... It is a 6mm stainless steel shackle onto which is welded a 25mm x 5mm stainless steel round ring. The wheel is the same as the original Jaystore Dynabar pulley wheel. Any size ring could be welded onto the shackle but I find 25mm (1") works fine. Virtually no rope wear of course. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ua48gqjthjpnwa/20190909_094301.jpg?dl=0
