Re: The Duotone wing

What does these wings do anything better than other watersports? Jump? Upwind? Downwind? Surf? Speed? Freestyle? Cruise? Carve? it probably doesn't do better than any of those. but that's not the point. it just might find a niche not covered by any of those. for example, i hang out at a lake part o...

Re: Flying footswitch learning time

i tried Kamikuza's method of getting both hips and feet pointing forward, and then just taking a step yesterday. i think that will help in my progression, or lack thereof. the hardest part was getting in that position with my feet. but once there, the step forward and back was fairly easy. gotta kee...

Re: Hello ! It's Lou

heaviest kites? what a crock. i've really never liked any 12M kite, but rating a brand on their 12m offering alone is like rating a car company on it's cargo vans. the smaller (< 12M) Wainman's were the best all around kites ever...for me. they were good surfing, good boosting, and now, even good fo...

Re: Remora Sucktion Foil Mount

sounds like a great idea to me, though i doubt i'd use it for kiting. for SUP, windsurf, or surf boards, yes. the fact they recommend using a leash tells me this thing has, and will, come off. i just wonder how often and easily that happens. would think it'd be safer with non-kiting apps, i.e., mell...

Re: why does the moses mast screw always loosen itself ?

my LF masts have same issue, but it happens on both of them, not just front. vibration does it. it's not like the fuselage is going to come off, but it can be wobbly when i check it after a session. and a while back i tightened it so hard (on my original learning setup) that it seized up on me and t...

Re: The Naish Wing-Surfer

for a 4M kite/wing to pick you up out of the water, seems it would have to be blowing well into the 30s. besides Hawaii, where does that happen? maybe on a SUP foil where the wing doesn't really have to pick you up, but i don't see it working on a regular kite foil board, or even a surf foil board w...

Re: About real small pocket boards < 1 m, benefits and limits

To me, a "real small pocket board" is smaller and much closer in size to one's stance width. that is exactly why i haven't liked these short boards. they don't allow my normal stance width. i'm a little taller than average and i've always felt my front leg wants to go beyond the end of the board on...

looks like holding a bar with a kite attached would be easier.

Re: Anybody else got the 10 and 12mtr Ozone Ultra 1 strut?

i just got an Alpha 12m and have only had it out once, but it seemed to do well. it was windy enough for a 10m so it wasn't a good light air test day, but i'm glad to hear relaunch was good. i suspected that might be the case given its larger leading edge. i came from an Ultra 12m, but i gotta say, ...
