it'll be bvecause it strips the outer braid off the core material destroying trhe mechanical integrity of the rope, even though it still looks good.

well back here in the uk things are going well with them. out of the 25 that came through in the first batch all of which were sold out in 3 days, we've only had a limited number of niggles with them. the depower strap needed to be a double pull down, flysurfer have fixed this and all new units will...

the grey stuff is vectran, its a branded high tenacity low friction rope and the specific braid pattern used, its on the naish and flysurfer kite. vectran has no core.

dyneema is a differently braided and none surface treated line, typically used as ac core material inside a polyester outer braid.
