Re: Ocean Rodeo Kite - Pros and Cons ?????????

Think the earlier posts covered most of it. The 08 kites are great all-around...low end, fairly light bar pressure but turns quick with a direct feel, handles gusts well, bomber construction, etc. The 09's look even better...give em a try!

Re: 1st time to hawaii help

Search the forum...there should be lots of info. Of course check kitebeaches.com as well. What time of year are you going? Soon I assume. Maui has best wind and you would want your small kites...and the south shore will be the spot for waves this time of year. Oahu has some good wind and surf of cou...

Re: 2009 Ocean Rodeo Mako 140 Wide!

The 140 sounds sick...I can't wait to try it.

I love how OR listened to feedback from their riders and modified their gear accordingly...

Those videos are pretty sick...minus the Eminem song. The riding isn't too shabby either...

Re: OR Mako or Naish directional for onshore waves/chop?

Why can't you demo one? Are there any shops near you? If you ask the OR guys they may be able to help find you a place...either that or to your nearest distributor. The OR forum may be a good option to ask around as well...maybe there is a rider in your area w/ one. Good luck...

Re: Caution's "Going Green"

This sounds like a great idea. What happens to the old kites? Would be great if more companies (not just kite) got into this.

Re: KONA, Hawaii......Kitesurfing?

There is no good wind sensor for leeward Big Island kiting. The keahole point sensor is about 10-15 miles away and is almost always lower than A-Bay and Kiholo, same w/ Kawaihae. During the summer the wind usually peaks between 10-20 kts (today it was ~15) and blows during the middle of the day, as ...

Re: Realistic windrange '08 OR Rise 16m

I am a little lighter (70 kg?) with a similar size board, and the 12 gets me jumping etc in 13+ kts. I think you may want to try the 14 instead of the 16...as the low end is really something else on these kites. The 16 would probably work fine...but I think it is geared toward bigger riders.

Re: KONA, Hawaii......Kitesurfing?

October is usually not our best month...but there will be some rideable days. A 10m will probably be a little small...most guys ride 12-16 m kites unless we get a Kona or N wind day. As mrlarloo said...ABay or Kiholo are the usual spots. Probably best to PM or post again before you show up as to get...
