Re: My bladder

The best trick I was taught is to leave the bladder in the kite and pump it up completely. Then fill a spray bottle w/ soapy water and spray the entire bladder to locate the holes. I hate the bathtub method. If you have 50 microholes bubbling soap...you are s.o.l.

Re: Favorite Kite Travel bag?

Another vote for the NSI Deceiver. Well made, not too big or small, and think it is the most deceiving of the "golf" style bags.

Re: Which OR Rise sizes would replace 9m and 14m Waroos?

I am lighter than you...and the 8 and 12 cover pretty much all I would need. With that being said, I think the 10 and 14 would be your best bet. However, you may need a smaller kite on the real windy days. You can push the limits of the kite and use one kite over a larger range...but I don't think t...

Re: ocean rodeo mako wide - anyone bought one yet?

I agree with Evan to just get the board now if you want one. I ride a Mako 134 and although the pads aren't perfect, I don't have any problem with them. In fact, I have ridden similar boards that have similar pads and the feel is similar :) It's a sweet board and the pads should not hold anyone back...

Re: ocean rodeo mako wide - anyone bought one yet?

I think Evan's tips on undoing the strap completely and tucking away the little elastic part make the strap install much much easier. I also recommend putting a little teflon tape on the screws so they won't slip at all. Rbgar, I don't think the new pads and straps are going out in full force yet......

Re: Cabrinha Contra3 14 or Ocean Rodeo Rise 14 for light wind?

Haven't ridden a Contra (just seen them I guess). I use the 12m Rise as my low wind kite, and agree that a 12m with the right board would be the way to go at your weight. I am 150 lbs and the 12 is all I need. Just a great kite all-around...the best I have ridden. The new vents are super nice for li...

Re: Looking for a 16m:Rebel or Rise Venturi or Rhino

Similar to McKite...another plug here for the Rise. No experience w/ the Rebel or Rhino but love the 08 Rise. The venturi system is great against stalling and thus for trying new tricks or being in marginal conditions. The range is great so you might think about a 14. Plus you will get the build qua...

Re: Cannot login? Having login Problems? READ THIS

Did anyone ever get the login issue resolved using Opera? I never did and am stuck using IE. I deleted all the cookies and tried some of the other login tricks but never found a solution.

Don't forget the OR forum as well, there is a fair amount about the Mako there as well:

Board rental in Venezuela

Girlfriend and I are traveling to Venezuela in early Feb and I don't really want to truck around 2 boards. We are thinking of going to Adicora and Coche. Does anyone know if it is possible for us to rent boards at these two spots? How bout the cost? Thanks in advance...
