..outside of strength/endurance conditioning (and/or just pushing beyond what your body is used to), drinking lots of water, etc as others have mentioned ..also might consider stance --as any "sit/squat" in your stance will escalate leg/quad fatigue significantly.. try and take a look at some pics o...

..some additional info on NJ area spots: NJ Area Interactive Spots/Map --there's also a boat accessible option/demo/service offered by GreenHat Kiteboarding that's worth considering ..as the spot is comparable to a "mini-Hatteras" and can also demo some gear with price creditable towards gear purcha...
